  • After all the troubles i had with my last Volvo, i wont be running back to buy another one. Cost a fortune in repairs.

  • @lesdoyle2000 what year and model did you had?

  • I wish they would put an automatic cell phone jammer in every car. And anyone that makes more than two attempts to dial his/her cellphone should also get an electric shock. And finally, any woman who tries to put on makeup while driving should be soaked by a built in sprinkler system.

  • im getting this car today

  • @templerunes Whoever brought this car for you was a mugg in buying it. It is hugely overpriced, and again, looks quite boring like most vehicles. Not impressed with this motor vehicle, apart from its safety features which are excellent. Bar that, its overpriced, and probably overrated at the same time. Better of with a European Ford or Vauxhall, as good, if not better build quality, and cheaper to maintain than the overpriced, overrated Volvo S60.

  • @sambozauk I'm 16... I'll take what I can get. ;) I love it.

  • @templerunes ps, look at the prices of it, then compare it with all the other brands available out there. You will be amazed when you see how overpriced the S60 is. Annoys me in all honesty, that for such a boring looking car, how they have the gaul to charge upto and get this, upto £40k for an S60,lol. Hmmm, I wonder what I would rather buy for £40k, an S60, or maybe a Jaguar XF?, I wonder, lol

  • @sambozauk You have a point... But It's not like I can just trade it in... It was a gift. I agree it is a bit overpriced.. But what do I care? I didn't pay for it. I love the car... My brother drives an Aston Martin and my father drives a Range Rover Sport.

  • @templerunes Fair enough, I myself drive a Volvo XC60, so there you go,hehe!. I just think that this specific motor from Volvo is not worth it when you can purchase I think better motors in the market. Range Rover Sport, come on, your proving to me they have no style in vehicle purchases, abysmal build quality again overpriced and pretty ugly to look at. The Aston though, now your talking :P.

  • @sambozauk Thanks. ;) You wouldn't be saying that if you'd ever been inside a rover. :)

  • @templerunes This is the thing I have, it reminds me of a posers motor with most of there buyers not really having a lot of style, and having owned recruitment company within the Auto sector, I am well aware of what a good car is, and what is not. The Range Rover unfortunately to your amazement is an extremely unreliable vehicle, costly to run, and unstylish for todays honest market. But people buy them, because they are status symbols right?, but not a lot else.

  • @templerunes The best motor vehicles in the marketplace currently, are Ford, Vauxhall, SAAB and VW, and that is just the truth of the matter. They are easily maintained, they offer a high build quality. If a Vauxhall Insignia was called a BMW Insignia, people would buy more of them. Prob is, people have this illusion a badge means ultra quality and are obsessed with what the neighbours drive. Not me, does not bother me, life is to short to worry about what the neighbours drive :).

  • @sambozauk Sure is.... No one in the United States has even heard of a Vauxhall... I know the brand... But most here don't. Not sure why. Same goes for Renault.

  • @templerunes Well I can understand why the USA has not import Renault :P, but Vauxhall is related to GM, but Vauxhall here in the EU is how can I put it, of a higher quality than the US GM.USA really should take a leaf out of the EU's book regarding the vehicles. Basically we make the best vehicles in the world, maybe Japan comes close, but ultimately EU brands are higher quality and efficient. Vauxhall in the USA would mean fuel efficiency, so yea, can see why the US does not have them, hehe.

  • @sambozauk Vauxhall is more than related to GM. Vauxhall is owned by GM, they bought Vauxhall in 1925. And the Vauxhall VXR8 was sold in the United States under the name of Pontiac G8.

  • VERY impressive safety measures.....

    Car looks good too

  • pedestrian killed = 0

trully a city car not a circuit car

  • beatiful car ... Volvo is amazing!

  • I applaud Volvo for all of these safety features. Surprisingly, that red (orange?) S60 is really good looking too.

  • I got $50 bucks that says, the next time you're involved in an accident - you are going to wish that either you or the other person had this system.

  • @neverhearof I got $50 bucks saying that if it hit a Mercedes S-Class it wont make any difference, lol. You can still die in it, like you can in any vehicle. The safety features appears to be good, but in all honesty, at 22mph?, not exactly high impact protection speed is it?, so in theory it is no different than any other motor, bar the low speed safety device. I think many of you have been sucked into advertising and marketing here. This vehicle annoys me, as you can probably tell, lol.

  • @sambozauk Look at it this way, if it helps you avoid a car even once that just saved you money because you wouldn't have crashed and your insurance rates wouldn't have gon up. Or if you are out of warantee then it just saved you an immidiate 2-10 thousand dollars on your car didn't it? When I first heard about the technology I didn't even think about saving my life, because as you said, it won't kill me. I thought about money, and it'll always save you there.

  • @AdrianC12345 Thats a good way of looking at it. They tested this motor on tv 2 weeks ago, and it still knocked the dummy over. I think it is overrated, and they should not be upselling such kit on motors until they have got it right. I do not trust it, great idea if it works, spot on, but it doesent work properly, lol.

  • @sambozauk It's hardly overrated. What other company has anything close to this at this price range? And how come people only remember the time it failed? I mean it workerd perfectly over 600 times in front of the press and the 2 times it has failed are the ones people remember? And keep in mind you can be sure as hell the car did another 400 tests at least before it failed again. If it saves you 998 times out of 1000 is it really that bad? And if you need it 999 times then how bad a driver r u?

  • @AdrianC12345 Its price is terrible. I have only seen 1 of these Volvo's on the road here in the UK. It is competing directly price wise for the higher end models of this Volvo alongside the likes of a Jaguar XF and BMW 5-Series,lol, I mean are you seriously thinking people would purchase this very ugly Volvo that is a little box, just because it has an automatic breaking system that is not 100% safe?. Also diesel BMW/Jags are more economical and better looking. Can not convince me, soz!.

  • @sambozauk It's price range is with the 3-series and the A4 or the C-Class. With the same options on an A4 or a 3-Series they are always 3 K more for the Audi and 10 K more for the BMW! And you get a better warantee with Volvo, and Volvo's reliability is the highest of all the european brands period. Not to mention this is faster than a 3-series or A4, safer, cheaper to buy, and more reliable. And don't even start with Jaguar because like all UK cars, the reliability is shit.

  • @sambozauk lol, you're just mad cause the volvo s60 has faster 0-60 acceleration than it's luxury competition cars.

  • Throw in a Turbocharged I5 and you've got yourself a true Vo!

    For Life.

  • these are nice safety features. seems pretty easy for the car to make a mistake or have the guy behind you crash into you from a sudden brake. but i was wondering (of course volvo isnt part of ford anymore) why ford, mercury, lincoln didnt get safety things like these?

  • @vipermoon64 its all about contracts.. ford and lincon did takes some ideas from volvo such as blind spot information system (blis) and collision warning system, like wise volvo did not get the syc system added to their cars.

  • To me, Volvo's only goal is to attract ignorant shitty drivers by promoting all of these automatic features. If someone needs all of this detection technology, you shouldn't be on the F'N ROAD to begin with.

  • @sdlausen this is excaktly my thoughts!

  • Relying too much on computers.

Let's hope it won't all of sudden brake itself in a hurry.

Little shot of a mud from truck in front splash on to the camera/radar and car goes nuts.

... so this car is for bad/un-skilled drivers, ?

  • @xxgg i think you can turn off all those features if you don't need it. like in the situation that you are talking about

  • i still insist volvos are lame

  • the technology is pretty nice, the car is pretty cool 8/10

  • the radar makes the grill look tacky

  • And who has all that technology first ..... MERCEDES BENZ !!!

  • Let see what's gonna happen now with Volvo and the style of the car, because now the owner of the brand is Chinese !!!

I like the car how it looks outside, but inside it has to improve.... Too spartan !!

  • Women protection ftw!

  • Looks like it's got a European license plate on the front.

  • @Howie262 lol....

  • @Howie262 The same was told about automatic transmission first and then about parking radars as well. Now everyone uses them.

  • volvo is losing its soul. forgive me being rude, but this new car is full of French taste. widened logo letters is very chrysler too. volvo is no more a northern european car. it is a cheesy package of technology and vulgar aesthetics.
