I had the privilege of meeting Chase Masterson, Armin Shimmerman, Max Grodenchik,
Jeffrey Combs, Vaughn Armstrong, Casey Biggs, and Marc Alaimo. Best day of my life mostly due to meeting and speaking with Chase Masterson for a few minutes.
@dakotagerman1 Exactly my thoughts dakotagerman. The Charlie Chaplin's speech was filled with passion and longing and very moving. Chaplin's speech or the UFP anthem can touch the heart of every human being with a conscious and longing for cooperation and friendship.
Ok, this is not enirely a trek issue but I am a HUGE Trek nerd, can you believe that some nuts still believe the entire space program to be a hoax? I urge you all to comment on the Moon Landing Hoax - Wires Footage from DanielsNews. Jim Lovell right now is flying with Neil Armstrong and Gene Cern to the war zone. These are men in their late 70's and early 80's going to thank our fighting men and women the least we could do is show some support for them as American Hero's, no Earth Hero's.

I refuse to acknowledge the United Nations, but I am proud to call myself loyal to the Federation, even though it is "fictional." What a wonderful dream for tomorrow!
Couldn't agree with you more, Josh. Too bad we couldn't have a real-life Garak that could give some of that soup (with just a touch of hemlock, of course)to the entire U.N.
@lcmorgan1221 Remember. In Star Trek, there was United Earth, not United Nations. United Earth didn't want to take over the world. United Nations is a greedy government organization bent on world domination. United Earth didn't want power. They wanted equal liberty for all people and no big communist government unlike the UN. The more I look at it, the more I think we are in the mirror universe. *Gasp*
@thefinalfrontier1701 Interesting, since the intro for all of the mirror universe episodes of Enterprise used clips that came from our daily news, I totally agree. I had better corner the market on sleveless tunics now while there's still time!
@thefinalfrontier1701 With a peace keeping budget of merely $5 billion per year (compared with $680 billion US defense budget of 2011), I can hardly call UN an "organization bent on world domination." In 1994, the United Nations was barely able to come up with 300 peace keepers before the Rwandan massacre because of interference from the likes of NATO and the U.S. ... way to "dominate" the world.
stand up!!! remeber WOLF 359 !!!!!! ah and of course CHINTOKA 1 !!!! ....Here's to geekness...(which I am very proud of it)..live long and prosper !!
Were some of those players crying? Fucking pussys.

Sorry, I miscounted, 11 vs. 9. Still unfair though.

I just realized, there are 12 DS9 players vs. 9 Vulcan players.

Great episode and anthem. I believe it's the only time in Trek history that the UFP anthem has ever been played.

Don't get rid of the clapping. There is a dignity in this anthem because of the dignity that is in the ideal of the United Federation of Planets.
It is a realization of the speech made by Charlie Chaplin at the conclusion of the film "The Great Dictator".

I think Ferengi is not part of the UFP, so why do Quark have to salute to the flag?
eddielung31 2 years ago 2
Because he has a contract selling Niner merchandise and he is polite
arnout23 2 years ago 3
Yeah, and the same goes for Major Kira, who is Bajoran.
Amar7605 2 years ago
Because Quark is a citizen of the UFP and the fererngi are allys of the UFP. But you are right the Ferengi aren't part of the UPF.

I think he's just playing along. Like how some people in events feel compelled to stand for the national anthem.

Right, so we can trust governments(composed of politicians) to do all that the UN does that governments repeatedly throw onto the UN's lap?

If they'd choose Garak into the team, he'd probably put poison into the Vulcan team's Plomeek soup before the match and the Niners would've won.

Hi, I really like this anthem and so tried to compose some words that would go with it for my uni in the UK for a bit of fun, comments welcome.
From far and wide, we gather here
Standing in unity, Lancaster's pride
Knowledge and reason at heart of our creed
Forever a child of Lancaster Uni

I would have thought all the people in the stands were part of the holo-program.
This anthem is even better than the Soviet Anthem!

Rom is real, the others are holograms.

dont you think the holosuite is a little small for the scale? It would have to be the size of a real stadium in order to do this!
