  • "Between April and August 1962, the traditionally reluctant Evans entered three different studios on a total of eight occasions and recorded the equivalent of four and a half albums. One key factor in this spurt was undoubtedly his narcotics dependency and consequent financial needs. In that summer of 1962 I found Bill's life and career in hideous disarray."--Orrin Keepnews, quoted in "The Complete Riverside"

    Thanks for posting!

  • Thanks for posting. This remains one of Evans' lesser celebrated albums, recorded in August of 1962 - and it should be heard by more jazz fans. The young Freddie Hubbard is beautiful on it as well.
