  • of course it's unrealistic, do you think spiderman is realistic? the west have their comic books, and the east have their fairy tales. they're just for entertainment -_-

  • I was in awe of Broken Swords skill. When he closed his eyes, I was like daaammmnnn....

  • jesus its like Dynasty warriors lmao

  • hide the fine china, there sh-- going down tonight!!!

  • 3:25 Clever symbolism- It cut the neck of the dragon.

  • they were fighting cookie monsters lol

  • ot mu biçiyon birader yavaşşş :))

  • if want to find realism in the movies...dont watch movies...PE FUCKIN RIOD

  • how did the Emperor know about cars at that time lol

  • this scene reminds me of dynasty warriors.

  • Why didn't he kill the First Emperor? The world would be a better place without a unified China challenging the divinely ordained domiance of the White Christians. To hell with coloured heathens!

  • NNNNNGNNGNNGNGNGNGNGNNNNNN TOH..

    NNNNNGNNGNNGNGNGGGNNGNGNGNNNNGNNGN TUM?

  • Beauty so graceful and peaceful it can make you cry.

  • flying snows jian sword is gorgeous; me want :)

  • The actual Qin king can't fight for shit

  • @rkerr1974 From what I know he was a fat dude wasn't he.

  • @wisewarrior7

    shit yea

  • 2:15 emporer thinking 'wtf sif the imperial interior designers had to come in today to try and spruce the place up.'

  • This fight scene is beyond epic, it's uber to the balls! Can't believe how two people can take on an army, it's too metal and beutiful...at the same time!

BROKEN SWORD IS AN OFFICIAL BADASS!!!why you ask??? CUZ HE USES A FUCKIN BROKEN SWORD,and counters the king's direct hit in such fashion and elegance, it made me cry

  • @Necrondth From 3:09 to 3:30 he heard what was in the kings heart...Our Land.

  • Haaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii...YA!

  • To see these two absolute badasses taking care of businees in the courtyard was a joy to behold. The king could take care of himself too!

  • Daoming Chen was fabulous in this movie, Jet Li too ofcourse. The way the story was put on film makes it incomparable with other movies in its category (300, Troy, Kingdom of Heaven and so on...)

  • reminds me of heavenly sword

  • The climax of the battle is like pure poetry...

  • The king sounds like a car motor! :D

  • @gaara504060 Lmao XD

  • I never made sense of the color scheme of this movie, I wont spoil it for you if you are unaware, but it is brilliantly done. Broken Sword is by far the most admirable character in any movie, whether action, eastern, or otherwise.... he is the ultimate warrior who has achieved ultimate love, inner peace, and prosperity.

  • Id like to see those swords cut through Spartan Shields lol

  • @XvxBERSERKxvX I just lost 12 IQ points reading this ridiculous comment.

  • @XvxBERSERKxvX

Spartan shields were giant wooden shields coated in a layer of bronze.

The wushu genre is a "fantasy" genre. In real life, swords wouldn't be able to cut through ANY wooden shields (ie. the ones in the movie). And of course, people don't fly either.

  • Man!!! I want broken sword's sword sooo bad....I already know how to do the blade let-go twist reverse neck attack...Now I need sword lol

  • People that think the fighting scenes are unrealistic certainly dont understand the movie... ofcause the fighting is unrealistic.. as every fight in this scene is happening in the thoughts of each of the 2 characters (it not suppose to be real).. that is why we see different colors themes as well, for each side of the story there is one interpretation of what has happened according to each narator... this part of scene is the king recalling what has happened in his own mind..

  • i watched a guy from the army fall over dead that was in the back of the group.. lol

  • Spectacular film - notice that each of the main fight scenes have a particular colour associated with them; gold (forrest), white (library), blue (lake), black (chess house) and green (palace)

  • Not even can Yoda fight like that....

  • Thnx Harris I will check it out :)

  • Wow !!!!! I wud like to fight like that

  • @Sudhism

Then Dynasty warrior is definitely a game for you.

  • lmao the army is equipped with cardboard

  • Trying to equip an army of dozens of millions with iron age technology was a mistake in the first place. Putting them against a pair of supernatural martial artists with custom-made weapons, doubly so. :D

  • i remember this scene... 2 v 10000?

  • The flying and gliding is real. When you become harmonious with Law, laws no longer limit or control to you, but the contrary, you control the laws. Through discipline or predisposition enlightened people were able to become harmonious with Law, and thus, the physical and cosmic laws were at thier command. In the case of the gliding, the laws of gravity were to some extent at thier command. The true pupose of martial arts is not combat, it is meant to develop harmony with the practioner and Law

  • So..can you fly?

  • Everyone can.

  • But can YOU? Like right now, go out and glide across your back yard? And how do you know all this?

  • miracles are as limited as our means to perceive them. thats why im not so impressed by them.

  • @teched246 got some scientific evidence to back that up? :P

  • that was a mouthful but well said !! lol

  • @teched246

Uhh, not it's not. The wushu genre is a "fantasy" genre - similar to heroic knights fighting dragons or invincible Greek heros of the Trojan war.

People cannot fly in real life. Martial arts doesn't enable people to fly.

And people can punch through bricks thanks to Wolf's Law - the bones in the body becomes denser and hardens after repeated stress.

  • @teched246 Yeah, it's "real" except no one alive or dead can actually do it or has ever done it. It's a movie stop being such a weeaboo

  • Wow, these guys are so awesome, that the soldiers falls dead BEFORE they were even hit. LOL

  • Broken Sword is the best

  • I actually hate Chinese wire films, but the way this ovie was filmed is just incredible.

  • Unimaginable.....

  • Best Chinese swordplay fight ever!!!

  • i love how they slice the curtains and then attack eachother and then the curtains fall. they went so fast. BEST MOVIE OF ALL TIME

  • I love the swords in this movie! I WANT ONE!!!

  • thats stephen chow right?

  • Nope, those are Chen Daoming (The King of Qin) and Tony Leung Chiu-Wai (Broken Sword) both are awesome actors

  • OMG.. that all i can say... its much more graceful than samari fighting.. even tho i like katana..

  • 3:51 the soldiers realized the fight was over.

    : Wait a minute

    : look

    := :o

  • I like the part where Broken Sword lets his blade go to reverse his grip, then just nicks the emperors neck.. Awesome movie luv it.

  • love how he stands there and the sheets fall!!!!!!!

  • i wish i knew how to sword fight like them lol

  • It's probably a symbol for him. Plus, he still kicks all kinds of ass with it.

  • broken sword is awsome

    he rulez

  • dang they killing them like they where little peace of stick

  • So badass when The King walks out at 1:07

  • @BiggousDickous agreed

  • 秦王真是英氣十足~!!

  • does the first scene remind anyone of....dynasty warriors? MUOSO MODE!

  • i kno right? lol especially the chinese one.

  • vieron que la espada del rey cae en la columna justo en el cuello del dragon....

    como presagiando su muerte.

  • Kind of like Rambo.....But then I always though Sly was a little pink...lol

  • Dude, you don't need to take every single thing in this movie "by-the-point" (means literally). If humans could fly like they do in this movie, we would probably stop using planes and cars. Right?

  • i dont know y people are so strict when it comes to things that are Chinese. didnt Hollywood movies have storylines like that all the time? Few people taking on an entire army?? Besides, the flying part we dont know if it acutally existed, but its an essential part of the Chinese mythical kung-fu literature called "Wu XIa"...just like the Greek have their tales of Greek Gods. I think Wu Xia stories are exaggerated (they're stories for entertainment after all) but they could be based on truth.

  • Ya but the Chinese story lines are way more cooler. But your comment about the Wu Xla makes a lot more sense. I always just figured the flying stuff just represent their amazing balance, skill and grace.

  • @Ginne86 That's true, however . . . nothing is truly beyond what a Man can believe or conceive.

  • @Ginne86 I think this attitude comes from a desire to see realistic fight that I'm sure for a few people they can try to copy moves from. Just ignore them if they don't understand

  • @Ginne86 Love your comment! You really know what you r talkin about...

  • @Ginne86 people can watch transformers, iron man, spider man and x men but can't allow chinese heroes to fly...

  • @oishiasan damn right...in China the expression "walking in the air" also means something not understeandble for normal people, and that's why chinese warriors often fly in movies and legends

  • why didn't he kill the king?!

    (ignorant question, i know...)

  • Not ignorant...just watch the film....Broken Sword came to believe that allowing the King to unite the warring states was more important than his, or Flying Snow's, revenge.

  • True ! ...

  • @Blain1971 The Roman Empire united the world and then crumbled into ruin because it conquered and destroyed to do so creating resentment. The Qin Dynasty failed because it did the same exact thing which resulted in China going through another Civil War.

Broken Sword was manipulated by his own foolish mind into thinking that its better to unite China at ANY COST. That's why his lover fought him, he betrayed her and her lost nation.

China today is under oppressive communistic rule. Go figure.

  • @Vigatos Woah...and on a comment I made 2 years ago...I'm honored. Now if the national lottery would just pick me out of the multitude. But I always thought that the Qin Dynasty failed because in reality the emperor was crazier than a fuckin' bat, taking mercury to increase his longevity and so forth, once he croaked it everyone just started fighting over the prize. The entire movie is pure fantasy anyhow, but still a good story, not many of those in the movies these days.

  • @Vigatos Fuck off brainwashed pig

  • because he wanted to piss flying snow off

so he'd have an excuss to continue smashing his young apprentice ..moon..

  • Haha XD

  • I think i'm in love with broken sword..

    is that bad?

  • me too.

  • My reaction was...

Those must be some really cheap metal.

  • YES THIS IS AMAZING!

  • When the king appears, and those trumpets announce his presence... Gives me goosebumps. Very memorable scene.

  • @InnkeeperX same here lol

  • the best music. the best martial arts movie ever!

  • All the beautiful colors are so dazzling and symbolic!

  • I love it when the man closes his eyes and the green curtain falls so gracefully and beautifully.

  • anyone see the irony when the king's sword is flung away.....it hits a pillar and cuts the dragon's neck!! maybe its metaphorical or something...:)

  • those thousands of soldiers using dagger-axes and spears... how are they losing to two people with swords? They were literally just running up to Leung Chiu Wai and Maggie Chung with their weapons poised upwards just to die...

  • Because its easier and less painful killing trying to kill them.

  • its just a tradition in chinese culture to exaggerate martial art in movies..yyea

  • cuz the king of Qin equipped his soldiers with cardboard shields & armor and weapons made of wax.

  • lol no kidding.

"I have a great plan on how we can save a wack on the national budget this year!" :p

  • lol, too bad he didn't factor in the cost of losing all those soldiers he had to train, clothes, feed, etc

    XD

  • 內功!

  • i listen to the theme song of this movie to help me go to sleep

  • It's a palace. I would expect the curtains are for decoration. But it adds to the scene since Broken Sword is wearing green and the curtains act as camouflage.

  • alrite. i think THIS is my favorite scene in the movie. ..flying snow & broken sword are frickn siiick. together they are beasts. they stormed in and wiped out the king's soldiers..and almost assassinated the king..broken sword ended up not doing it...

  • i don't like the plot of the movie too much but visually it is one of the most beautiful i know!

  • That's hypocritical.

  • lmao 2:19 to 2:23 he sounds like my cousin making car noises

  • it did seem kinda funny, but I think it's more of a dramatic sound of intimidation back then

  • indeed. imagine how feared you would be if you'd managed to convince your opponents that you were in possession of a motor vehicle, back in 200BC

  • This scene is incredible. I mean, the way they charge in on their own and take on an army just to slay the emperor (but Broken Sword chose not to) and they fight so gracefully and of course, with honor. It's an amazing movie and it's scary because I'm sure there were some warriors like this back then.

  • shit. this is like dynasty warriors

  • ur right... it *does* sound like the crouching tiger solo!!

  • And that scene was so beautiful, I don't think I even knew that shade of green existed yet.

  • Finally, a king who can actually fight for himself

  • So he will run in terror at the sound of his manly screams.

Or something like that. I love the colors in this segment of the movie.

  • LOL he has no idea where Broken Sword is!!! and he is going crazy! slicing all of them! oooohhh! he did it with his eyes closed!

  • That is so good i have this movie on dvd but i just keep watching these fights in youtube

  • ahaha it is totally like dynasty warriors! crazy game and this is a damn crazy movie

  • you need to see the whole movie to understand why he didnt kill him

  • screaming is a part of the fighting

    how funny it may sound

  • LOL I know, right? It makes me laugh everytime!

  • This is the best martial arts movie ever period, you can se why it was in the Oscar cathegories!!

    Beautifull made...

  • fantastic scene

  • LMAO those girls are as good as those guys in dinesty woriers!

  • this movie is the best out of all movies!!!!

    love this sence

  • and ppl ask me where they get ideas for dynasty warriors XD

  • This movie is a true masterpiece.

  • gams23, I think you should watch the movie again. This scene is not from the end of the movie. In the end, there is only one human shape

surrounded by arrows (Nameless) and the king doesn't die. A second viewing helped me a lot.

  • the storming of the palace kinda reminds me of "Dynasty Warriors"; the whole tearing through hundreds of enemies part.

  • hot film

  • why the hek didn't u show the entire scene. it stops before it ends

  • is this from the directors cut, because i don't remember this scene when they aired it on tv here. in the end, the nameless killed the king and broken sword and flying snow came to aid him fighting the army outside, but were all killed eventually. the last scene only showed the wall of the palace covered in arrows, leaving 3 human shaped free spaces.

  • i think the strength of their swords in a way reflects the strength of their minds or their resolve.

hence why it cut through the soldiers shield so easily. this movie isnt meant to be taken literally.

  • its a great movie, but you messed it up a bit. The framerate at times is pretty laggy...

  • What is the movie about?

  • beggining ...dynasty warriors? lol no this fight scene is breathtaking to see how woderfully cheograpered this is

  • I didnt think the extras playing the soldiers did a good job at dying. Some of them fell over too soon. And about the shields that were cut off so easily, I think this is more of a literal metaphor that Broken Sword and Flying Snow had swords THAT durable and sharp to cut through metal shields

  • what the f... are those "shields" made out of? if they can't dodge a broken sword they souldn't even be used

  • wow that was the most amazing move i think ill ever see with a sword

  • brilliant!

  • nice
