Los abusos de la policía con nacionales y extranjeros radicados en el pais son algo comun y que aumenta con la seguridad de impunidad ofrecida por ley votada por el gobierno actual. Los testimonios aparecen no siempre espontaneamente para reivindicar respeto y derecho, considerando la poca seguridad jurídica de que goza el ciudadano. Soy panameña y tengo hijos que tampoco nacieron allí como este muchacho...
sorry to hear about what happened. Panama has corrupted authorities. Its pathetic the way these people do their jobs, if you can even call it that.
The thing you have to realize is that they are not going to come when you need them more than half the time. You need to arm yourself in as many was as possible in case you deal with threats, especially when in taxis. Don't get intimidated, stand tall and stay assertive.
