actually the 5.0 ended in the late model fox body platform in 1993. The sn95 platform 5.0 engine ended in 1995. The new 5.0 is a completely different engine based on fords modualr engine family. the original 5.0's were windsor engines.
Guys, the Cobra was my car back from 1998-2005. Here are some answers to your questions.
1. Yes, this was a real 1995 Cobra, with the 5.0L Engine, what is throwing everybody off is that I put 96 tail lights on it.
2. The car was on the stock bottom end, stock cam, HighPort Heads, Edelbrock VicJr intake, Accel DFI tuned by EFI Logics making ~550whp on pump gas @12psi. The turbokit was a Turbolocity kit (no longer around).
3. The Supra was a good friend of mine, in fact, he was the one who inspired me to throw a turbo on my Cobra. both cars ran very close at the track, the Cobra ran a 10.52@132 and the Supra ran a 10.58, the cars were VERY close, and always fun to race.
4. Search for videos that say "TurboSN95" in them, you will find lots of them.
5. Lots of the video's are under the username SupraSSQT
The car has been sold over 4 years ago, but is still on the streets in CT.

Im a domestic guy, but the Supra has been and looks like it will continue to still be the car to beat on the highway. I still like the Stang - something about the attitude the toyota doesnt have.
@TunedPortZ28 I believe TT Gallardos and Ford GT-TTs are the cars to beat on the highway. Superior aero, potential to make higher peak hp, and quite a bit more grip. But the chances of running across a truly built one is slim.
Both cars are great. Coming from someone who has friends with both Cobra enthusiast and Supra, myself being a owner of a heavily modified 95' Cobra. Both are going to cost you a lot of money to cross that line between street performance to border line race performance and another huge leap in cost to reach full race performance. With that said you'd be insane to think you could build a Supra cheaper. The car alone cost 3 times vs a SN95 Cobra model and twice for even a Terminator.
But that's besides the point. There are different methods to achieve goals. And your not even considering the two owners of these cars most likely had completely different goals when beginning their builds. Personally I love the "sketchy" characteristics of my SN95 Cobra. Backing 550hp; it's definitely not the fastest but I don't have any friends that would argue it is the most thrilling to drive and requires the most skill to handle. Which is what my goal was when building-to get a kick out of
I don't know any Supra owner who bought a excellent condition Supra for under $30k. And that didn't spend huge amounts of money to build it into a proper high performance car. But that doesn't matter. I wouldn't say that I don't love a 2012 GT500 just because is pricey. But if your arguing about bang for the buck. I know countless with a $3k fox body or SN95 who easily milks 500+hp from a 302 based SB - spends under $10k for the build and gets a blast out of driving the car.
Coming from a Cobra owner whos a Toyota dealership technician. Both cars are awesome-I snap my neck every time I see one drive by. To argue the Supra is cheaper is just a ignorant statement. To say one is better than the other is comparing two different machines. In what aspects is one better than the other and in the end it all comes down to which aspects are more important to the individual. Handling? Rare? Power? Braking? Luxury? Street? Drag? Budget?

@Marshmallowrex They didn't show how much boost either were pushing. I bet the cobra was under 12 psi and the supra was over 25 psi. Equal boost levels and the cobra can win. Have to look at all the numbers

Very good video. Both cars are amazing cars. This is not a domestic vs import video. This just shows that both turbo cars can be made much faster than stock, and still look extremely clean and beautiful. Both are beautiful cars that Im sure someone spent a ton of money on, and spent a lot of time planning and building. Ive built many cars. If you do your homework, and you can create something that is extremely fast yet safe to drive on the street anywhere. Congrats, nice cars and video!

in case yall didnt know the tail lights from horizontal and vertical are exchangeable which means if you have a 94-98 you can choose which style you want.

Very good video. Both cars are amazing cars. This is not a domestic vs import video. This just shows that both turbo cars can be made much faster than stock, and still look extremely clean and beautiful. Both are beautiful cars that Im sure someone spent a ton of money on, and spent a lot of time planning and building. Ive built many cars. If you do your homework, and you can create something that is extremely fast yet safe to drive on the street anywhere. Congrats, nice cars and video!

@stitesracing what the hell are you talking about i just said it wasnt stock jack ass, learn how to read before you try and com at me like that, i used to own a 97 n/a supra so dont come at me with anything about them, alls i said is the stock internals as in the pistons; push rods, head bolts, etc. are all good to about 700 horse so they might be stock, how you goin to tell if they are or top by look under the hood. take your shit somewheres else.
