  • I can't do one of these much less 8-10. Can anyone point me towards an exercise that will help me lead up to this? I go to the gym and have limited time so I typically focus on jogging, lower back, abs, and shoulders.

    if you wanna build muscle you should think about not jogging and instead focus on weigthlifting for awhile and if you wanna be able to do dips you just gotta do some triceps excercises :)

  • i was woundering if .. lets say i do 10 dips... and im like wiped out ..but then if i cant do that 11th one and i meen like only half way and its over.. is it good to like go up and down "parcial dips" if like i cant do anymore fully ones after that 1st try? so like my muscles will be whiped out on the 10th one and ill be working it out even more crazy by going up and down by a little fast

  • @koreath No, if you can only do 10, do ten and then wait 60 to 90 seconds and re-attempt, then wait again for 60-90 seconds and re-attempt. You may have to do 8 instead of 10, so you have energy for the other attempts. Do multiple sets. Never perform an exercise half ass and jitter like some dumbass on the dip bar. Performing any exercise (except power ones) slowly is the best way to go, if you're actually trying to gain something.

  • @SatansLollipop its your form, thats why its hurting your shoulder and/or the grip your using. The closer in grip the less stress on shoulders. Or your dropping your weight down on your shoulders instead of moving down using tricep strength. But best advice if it hurts, try a different excercise and come back to it when your shoulder has healed and your form is better.

  • damm i cant do dips x) weighing 95-97kg or so i usually use my legs when training running and bicycling only time i use my arms is swimming 2 times maybe 3 times a month

    IT does triceps yes, but if you not believe me, do this the day after you benchpress....

    Look also how chest stretches when goes down.

  • @ikelleners u can do dips on 2 ways.

    one stresses chest more and the other one stresses triceps more.

  • @ikelleners what is that for a silly comment..... dipping involves triceps and chest , shoulders and maybe a little abs too. u can choose to go more for the lower chest part by hanging forward, if u want to focus more on triceps hang str8 and keep your elbows close to the body.. offcourse when u train with more focus on chest or tricpes u will always use the other body parts, its not an isolation workout lol
