@eSKayBeats Sorry but you are wrong, Kata only refers to forms which are Japanese in origin. What this guy is doing, if indeed he knows escrima is what we call "anyo".

I practice Okinawan GoJu Ryu, and the point i was trying to make is that the martial arts i practice (from my point of view) has more versatility in a fight and more practical techniques, while forms like Kung Fu or Tae Kwon Do, and too focused on elevated techniques and high targets. Im not belittling what you practice, i'm merely giving my point of view.

Pretty, and fast, but he leaves himself open. That stance he starts in is only for practice, he needs to turn about 90 degrees to his right and point raise his left stick above his head, while pointing both sticks at about a 45 degree angle to the ground.

@MarkosRagnos as KenSmellsMA said, forms are only for learning the concept and fundamentals behind those movements. Sparring is the only thing that comes close to a real fight but even then you would never be able to do in a real fight what you do in a sparring match.
