@chronicleone If your door is drafty you probably need to replace the weather stripping, just blocking off the bottom most slat in the door won't work, on an old door like that all the stripping is probably worn on the top and sides too, so you need to replace that. It's not expensive. If you have drafty windows it's probably NOT the glass pains leaking air, it's probably more weather stripping and new windows are the only fix, interim fix would be putting up thick curtains.
