Blue Screen Of Death, everyone google it, mine has happened at least 7 times in the last 4 months. The update driver software not only doesnt work they recommend you uninstall it, its a highly unstable unit that blue screens at the slightest issue. Asus service is OK but whats the point. Its at the stage I am on a first name basis with the Techs, they cant stop it from happening either.

@xEmberstrife A lot of people hated the light so Asus got rid of it on the SW. I think what I've heard is that they left the physical light on there but it's just disconnected/disabled in some way.

@UnScriptedFlix - Hi, I have read a lot about this laptop, and many others. I've been looking into getting a new laptop for my birthday and this one is by far the best one in terms of performance and price.

Although the ASUS G73JH-B1 would be the next in line. And yes, the cooling system has been improved since the JH, which also means more overclocking time :D

It can also play Bad Company 2 at max settings without any problem, according to a performance test.

@SadoKun86 i know it is preetty surprising how overpriced some of the vendors can get. It gets worse when you start doing upgrades on the alienware's. Pricing on the upgraded parts are extremely high.

Apple kind of blows me away too. Dont get me wrong i like their mobile products and the touch screens they use are brilliant, however for what is inside their laptop series they should be charging far less. Especially from a GPU standpoint.

@juraianKnight the GSOD and freezing problems are completely gone. The G73jh models had a problem with the vbios xxx.017 and the newest catalyst drivers, but Asus released a new vbios xxx.020. that fixed that problem.

The keystroke problem if you type really fast will still be there on some of the models. Asus just released a new system BIOS which from many people including my own G73 has fixed the keystroke drop problem. Asus might take a while to fix stuff, but they do eventually fix it.

@FallenAndRised the g73JW limited edition is the "best" model as it is the only to come with 16gb ram. None of the other are able to be upgraded to 16gb. My favorite model is the g73JW -3DE. Not because of the 3D though. It has an amazing matte (anti-glare) screen with a refresh rate of 120hz. It also comes with a pair of 3D glasses Both models come with a back pack and gaming mouse as does the ability to burn Bluray discs.

@edwin11373 not after the driver update. Also if there was any one issue with the g73JH model that had the 5870 it was reliability issues. The common complaint was that the machine would freeze up or worse lock up and have to be reset/rebooted. This isnt a problem with the 460. Also the nVidia card is much easier/safer to overclock (at least in these Asus machines)

I used to be able to do this in my Toshiba Satellite. In this G73JW, I have to plug in a dead headphone jack into the headphone jack to silence the speakers when recording a long broadcast. @illkickurass1 ...yes it has the same horrendous laggy keyboard!!! it makes me sick! I tried the G73jH-A3, had the same problem, and since it used the ATI 1Gig Video card, it always crashed with GSOD until I did a bios update, however, the laggy keyboard issue was never resolved! Then I got this one, same laggy keyboard problem even though I did a bios update yesterday to version 203; laggy keyboard is still there, though not as bad but it is still there. Asus tech support totally sucks!
