  • damn thats him his voice smooth

  • Funny ass hell no one like him

  • Dooto Records' original offices were - get this, Sanford & Son fans - 9512 South Central Avenue in Los Angeles' Watts neighborhood, just down the street from Fred Sanford's fictional junkyard (at 9114 South Central Avenue)!

  • His voice really did sound alot better when he was younger, i think he did smoke an aweful lot. As he got older he started to sound like he was gargling with gravel or something.

  • This guy was haunting my conscience and when I discovered him and his material here yesterday he popped up like deju vu and I was like, "This guy.".. *shrug*

  • r&r redd foxx & richard pryor two of the greatest

  • Redd Foxx is great. His act can be dirty, but I for some reason it doesn't seem all toilet humor.

  • @mohinderbauer: Which these 1950s and 1960s Dooto (plus late 1960s recordings for Loma (a short-lived R&B subsidiary of Warner Bros./Reprise) LPs represent...Redd's "blue" (but not truly raunchy) act displayed in abundance his style and pacing eventually seen on Sanford and Son.

He didn't get truly dirty until 1976, when he released the "You Gotta Wash Your Ass" LP.

  • Redd Foxx's voice was very smooth. Damn the those cigarettes, Foxx was the man. RIP Redd Foxx.

  • amen

  • A REAL Class act. He is greatly missed.

  • Amen. He was the greatest comedian of the 20th century.
