I love the fast-pace dialog and did ya' hear what Cary Grant's character was saying to the Mayor-"that's the same thing my friend Archie Leach said just before he slit his throat" lol!!! Archie (Archibald) Leach is Cary Grant's real name.

I love Cary and Roseland, but this movie is about a white dude killing a black cop and the news paper fights to keep him from being executed. Black guys back then were getting hanged for looking at white women...funny fyi.

I love this movie! If things were a little different back then (things like segregation and racism and the outbreak of WWII) I would have loved to live during this time. I love the way people dressed, talked, expressed emotion, sang, and danced in movies. It was a time of real romance, class, and humor.

William Powell and Myna Loy are charming, they're drinking, they're in love, he's a great detective, and lots of dry humour. Enjoy!!! And of course, anything with Jimmy Stewart and Cary Grant for some fun, humorous movies. :)
