    love old times movies!

  • I wasn't so sure of watching this whole movie, but once I got into it I loved it. Quite a funny movie and the best part is the fast dialogue between the characters. I loved it.

  • classic, i love how movie actors were so articulate back in the old days, unlike those whisperers we've got today speaking in a murmur no one can hear.

  • I love the fast-pace dialog and did ya' hear what Cary Grant's character was saying to the Mayor-"that's the same thing my friend Archie Leach said just before he slit his throat" lol!!! Archie (Archibald) Leach is Cary Grant's real name.

  • I'm crazy about this movie! LOVE it! Chemistry...oh lala... and Cary Grant is so charming...he's granddad was a snake...lolo!!!

  • They don't makem like this anymore brilliant!

  • This is and amazing film. The dialog is like jazz and the character's movement like salsa.

  • I'm trying to do a Rosalind Russell comedy marathon. I fell in love with her since I saw her in "The Women".

  • A classic, thanks for posting!!!!

  • I wish Movies and Actor's were still ths good!

  • Excellent. I can quit surfing now. lol Thank You.

  • Thanks for posting. Would love to have this on DVD. Going to see if I can find it. Would love to see more of the older movies.

  • This is fantastic!

  • All praise to people who preserve the classic films like this one! I really love all of Cary Grants film... keep it up. This is the best way of preserving a classic! :-D

  • Classic "Screwball" comedy. They made many good ones like this before "Slapstick" came popular.

  • this may be the only classic movie that i watch over and over again.

this and aunty mame. The Rosalind Russell verison. Shes was such an awesome actress

  • wow, i had no idea films of this era were this good. especially with all the crap hollywood is regurgitating these days, good acting is like a breath of fresh air.

  • Her clothes in this are fabulous.

  • Great movie! And great representation of journalism in the 1940's.

  • wtf... that was the weirdest, most confusing ending i've ever seen. hahaha

  • *Rosalind Russel* was MAGNIFICENT in this movie. Without her it wouldnt be as great as it is. Again, she was wonderful...

  • the dialogue, the chemistry between russell and grant, the scope and shots in which it is filmed, all brilliant. i would have to say this would be one of my top 10 comedies of preferred watching. bravo !

  • Aw, Cary and Roz are so cute together! ♥

  • This is movie just became my favourite one =)

  • I ADORE this movie...wish they still made movies like this :)

  • im 16, i only watch tmc, love it!!

  • Rosalind Russell is amazing in this.

  • I love Classic Movies...I keep saying that I was born in the wrong era lol....Cary Grant is amazing but to be honest I watch TCM all the time...my mother calls me an old soul because its the only channel that I watch and I am 25 and I love them all...there are no more great actors actresses like this anymore

  • @LadyBeth24 i know how you feel!! i always have said i was born 60 years too late!! i am 19 and dream of the 40's!!! :) i love tcm!!! cary grant is the master of funny lines. did you watch the interview robert osborne had with leslie caron! she said the advice cary told her during filming father goose was - don't move after a funny line..

  • @LadyBeth24

    best.channel.ever.

  • oh, i love this !

  • Grant was BADLY miscast in this film. Should have used a better actor like Gable.

  • @JuanMacready i disagree! gable can't hold a candle to grant's comic timing.

nobody could act a funny line like cary grant..

  • @JuanMacready well, it seems everyone else thought Cary Grant fit like a hand in glove.

  • Thank you so much for uploading this! Im 18 but I love Cary Grant and these 40's movies soo much xxx

  • What's with that incredibly silly, ugly hat (at the beginning)?

  • how did you get that long video on YT? :O

BTW: This movie is soo great. I love it.

  • @kulikowska If you notice the username of the uploaders, they're all production companies, so You wouldn't be able to upload a full-length film... unless you had the rights to it or something

  • I love Cary and Roseland, but this movie is about a white dude killing a black cop and the news paper fights to keep him from being executed. Black guys back then were getting hanged for looking at white women...funny fyi.

  • @madkreative and one of the reporters talking about a woman giving birth to a 'pickanini'. Racist movie

  • @Trelli28 pllzz this is 1940, by todays standards every movie could be classified as racist

  • The ending is really kind of sad.

  • @McNugget06

Word. I really like this movie, but hate how Russell's character becomes such a doormat at the end.

  • a classic.

  • I love this movie! If things were a little different back then (things like segregation and racism and the outbreak of WWII) I would have loved to live during this time. I love the way people dressed, talked, expressed emotion, sang, and danced in movies. It was a time of real romance, class, and humor.

  • I love Cary's little whine!!! It's laughter inducing! Thanks for the upload.

  • I wish my ex-husband will not let me go like walter did (not that im married or anything) lol. i love this movie. how can you not love Cary Grant?? :)

  • one of my favorite movies. probably one of the best movies ever made

  • Rosalind Russel's boyfriend at the beginning is in the Awful Truth (1937) also with Grant

  • Born too late. Cary Grant is my favorite actor

  • amg, same it is magnificent :o)

Here the present humour should be the such, i think

  • what does he say after she says you wouldnt have taken me if i wasnt doll faced, and i think he says well why would i and then i just cant make out what he says

  • Just loved it

  • VERY bad casting. Gable would have been far better than Grant.

  • Hey Guys, You should have a look to this website, lot of exciting movies and drama series bit{.}ly/7ItYSp

  • She was always gorgeous!

  • the name of this movie is a song by the academy is...

  • @pearberrykoalas510 lol thats basically the only reason i'm watching it haha.

  • @jessicabreezy good reason though!! lol

  • I didn't know there were hot women in the old days.

  • Thats cause only the hottest were in the old days, just hot women are what you see today.

  • You think your generation invented sex? How do you think we got here (ROFLMFAO!)?

  • One of my all time favorites! The chemistry is brilliant, as is the screen play. I love old films, the acting was so much more dramatic. It was such a production. I swear I was born in the wrong decade. 5 stars. :)

  • @Sophiadarlingg ive been really gettin into old movies 2 especially this last year or 2. got any suggestions as 2 which ones i should watch?

  • Hi there -- I'm born in 1963 and have been a huge fan of movies since I was staying up late in my teen years and that's all that was in t.v. ---- to answer your question, go check out The Thin Man series. William Powell and Myna Loy are charming, they're drinking, they're in love, he's a great detective, and lots of dry humour. Enjoy!!! And of course, anything with Jimmy Stewart and Cary Grant for some fun, humorous movies. :)

  • @dokholiday86 arsonic and old lace

  • @Sophiadarlingg you appear dramatic yourself!

  • I'm wrong, of course, but I think Howard Hawks is the best director, ever.

  • Debatable.

  • One of my all-time favorites!

  • fantastic dialogues

  • Molly breaks my heart.. I feel so bad for her
