@Thunderchicken1997 No the 88/98 platform was the Custom Cruiser. Olds did not make a full size wagon from 65-70 leaving the Vista Cruiser on a stretched Cutlass platform as the wagon offering for these years. The fullsize 88/98 Custom Cruiser platform was brought back in 1971 and would stay until the early 90s. The Vista Cruiser would continue on this bodystyle until 72 and then adapted for the 73-77 colonade bodystyle until 77. 1977 was the last year for Vista Cruiser.
Sweeet Oldsmobile! My Mom had this Wagon when I a kid from 1976-1980 or so. I recall naming the area behind the back seats -"The Waaay Back!" Great car and could haul alot of stuff. Ironically many years later when I was in College I owned a 1969 Pontiac Catalina Wagon. Only difference? The lack of the cool roof windows in the rear. Nice engine sounds great!
Awesome! Do you have any recent videos of the car? If you do, I'd love to watch them. I've never owned a Vista Cruiser of any year. But it's still the most interesing car I've ever seen.
Nice wagon and wheels. Are they smoothies or rallys? I'm looking into buying a wagon because I want to be different from the norm. Plus, I can have a sleeper that isn't a coupe or 4 door.
These are 14 inch baby moon hubcaps with beauty rings. Ive had them on several cars Ive owned. I recently lost one of the rings. Ive had these hubcaps and rings since Sept 1986.
I live outside NYC, ever been to carlisle auto flea market before?.... About 3 years ago I saw loads of vistacruiser/ olds related items for sale, I aquired the red plastic fenderwell from a W-30 for 300$. A friend of mine wanted them. There was also a 442/cutlass hood non ram air but had the chrome vents. I think it came off a 71 or 72, He was askin 350$ for it
Well first Ive got to get repair the rust. Probably remove all the woodgrain and repaint the same color retaining the chrome side molding and Vista Cruiser emblems. Maybe a 442 ram air hood which would run a easy thousand dollars. This one is complete and restorable.
1970 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser has 350 Rocket V8 engine with 4 barrel Quadrajet carb. Vehicle was just driven about 80 miles from where it was purchased at the time this video footage was shot.
needs a bit of TLC
it should look great when its finished!

I belive that 1970 was the last year for the Vista to be based on the Cutlass platform. After 1970, it went to the Delta 88/98 platform.
