Same old shit is an expression used mainly by Americans when referring to doing things every day. I believe even in that video, the person put in the info box that it meant everyday, and they decided to put in "same old shit" out of an artistic whim.

They will change the lyrics in order to make it rhyme, and sound correct when sang. When they said what you are referring to, that's just what the Japanese sang. This is what America sings.
