  • wish I could get tabs to play it on my lute

  • Amazing music for an amizing game

  • I play AOE2 for at least 4 years and I still play it but , I NEVER heard that song

  • I liked AOE I, then, my dad bought the AOE II... My absolutly vice, after that, i'd bought the AOE III, the III was very funny... But, the II still being my favorite, really... NOSTALGIA, YOU WANNA KILL ME!??! ;A;

  • AOE II is an excellent game. AOE 3 did not really live up to the AOE II standard - too clunky. With that said, imho, there are some good strategy games out there like SC II BUT, there is no better game than the expanded version of the original AoE - ROR. Nothing!

  • You nostalgia, you lose XD

  • 2 PEOPLE GOT RUSHED :D

  • @LuffyBoy95 I know that before I got the original AoE (which I do own) I had a *copy* of it an the audio files were actual audio tracks, so you had to have the official disc in the CD drive to hear the music (as opposed to the MIDIs).

Can anyone verify that the original AoE II discs had actual CD Audio tracks but that copies never do?

  • @Endelite You'd better just buy the game anyhow. It supports your favourite producer. ;)

  • @doomsayers That's a problem. I intended to and recently went to the local stores, which sell the Collectors Edition, including AoE+RoR & AoK+Conquerors as well as a "compilation soundtrack". YAY! A not-massive 20 tracks! The original discs of AoE & RoR have 13 & 14 tracks respectively and AoK has 10 according to Wikipedia. Conquerors ssems to have 10 also according to Wiki. I'm not paying for an incomplete 'Collectors' version! So, I need to find the original Aok+Conquerors Gold, you see?

  • @Endelite Hey, at least you're not in Europe. Here, as far as I know, NO ONE has music INGAME.

That sucks a lot and it was never fixed :_(

  • 2:00 - just awesome!

  • i don't remember this one soundtrack...

  • AOE III Sux AOE II Better

  • not just old guys play this -____- i play once in a while and im 15...

  • why when i play i dont hear any Music??

  • @ZombieCrazy100 Are you deaf? If thats it you won't hear the music :)

  • @LuffyBoy95 no im not deaf, but i never heard the IN-GAME music, Only the Main menu one.

  • @ZombieCrazy100 hmm, maybe try to update your audio-drivers or re-installing the game :>

  • @LuffyBoy95 NOOO i dont like the music XD

  • @ZombieCrazy100 uuuh, i don't see your point. First you want to know why you don't hear the music and now you say that you don't like it?

  • @LuffyBoy95 i wanted to know if any otherr had problem, i do like the music from AOE3, but not aoe2

  • @ZombieCrazy100 But you said that you have never heard the in-game music in AoE2.

  • @LuffyBoy95 I think all of the illegal copies had the music removed, don't know why. The people making the copies were all idiots? I've only played it at friends' houses, but their *copies* never had sound and when they've looked for more, they've said they all seem to be the same that way.

  • I use this to let me fall asleep :), songs that bring back memorys usually do.

  • age of empires 3 was the worst game ever but age of empires 2 was one of the best

  • help me pls. i installed the game but no soundtrack need help send message to me to solve the problem

  • Played this when I was 6-7 years old. It was the shit, didnt get tactics or what they said. Only rogered the music and the ambience, this game is what made me so interested in history. Cheers Ensemble!

  • can anybody tell me the name of the first instrument played at soundtrack?

puede alguien decirme como se llama el instrumento del comienzo de la cancion?

  • @Barcocho I'm not completely sure, but to me it sounds like a santoor.

  • fine inspirational theme

  • I play with a friend in the common room all the time. We both have netbooks, which can play AoE2 without a disk, and we play directly with an ethernet cable. Awesome times.

And I found out how to move my save files from computer to computer. Some of my saved games have been played on 4 different computers now :)

  • this game is why I enjoy history...by favorite game of all time

  • thumbs up if you'd rather have a AOEII re-boot than AOE4

  • @TisNave

Check out Age of Empires Online. It's an AOE1 reboot.

  • @ProfessorWonder

    but is only online ;(

  • guys, don't go on AOE 3 too much, yes its not as good as AOE 2 but it's still a good rts game.

  • AOE III on the other hand is shit. YES, better graphics but just poorly made.

  • There's still an average of 1000 people playing online at any given time. Download the client "Voobly" and you'll be amazed at how fun this is online.

I've played this for the last 2 years online and I use to play online till last month when my addiction became a problem! Its the best RTS game ever made for playing Multiplayer. I just love it so much!

  • This perticular track almost brings back tears... So many hours which my mother told me was wasted.

Now i realise they wasn't, not a single second....

  • To build a Castle you must first advance to the next age, the Castle Age!

Good Job, with your new siege workshop you can make mighty battering rams; rams are slow but they are resistant to arrow fire and EXCELLENT at knocing down walls. You may need some rams to attack the English castle.

One of your most powerful units is created in the castle. Create ten more Woad Raiders!

Guys. I played the tutorial campaign like 100 times before I got the full game :) I will never forget these quotes xD

  • @Naba008 Also, trebuchets are massive siege weapons with a GREAT range, available only in Imperial Age. Remember: the trebuchets must be packed to move and unpacked to fire.

It was so epic. Guiding people like Joan'd Arc around; the most awesome thing is that they put historic elements into it. I mean, they even had her horse the books write about!

Also, this game made me learn a LOT about history just because it made me really interested. This game is good. I want more like it :)

  • I remember multi-playing this game all day long with my brother & friends , haha first collected all resourses , then created HUGE armies , and killed each other :b

  • hmm jó visszaemlékezni:Dmikor még kispöcsös koromba orba szájba nyomtam:D

  • örökzöld játék :D

legendás, remélem a következő generiáció is ismerni fogja

  • I have Age II but the game has no sound =(. Whats the problem?

  • @tubveh

ever tried to insert the disc?

    no disc -> no music

  • @tubveh guess you should search the internet or contact microsoft support...or e-mail me to find you a good version with sound :D

    maybe it's your cd,look for scratches ;)

  • fight! never let the elephants take you down! they are dangerous! (had a bad experience...)

  • anybody know the name of this song?

  • hey

i don't remember theses songs in aok and either tcc

    from where is it

    ??

  • I have got all soundtracks, but the songs are together! It's 30 minutes long!

  • Still playing it in lan with friends...

The kids are playing modern (lame) RTS games and wonder, what the hell is wrong with these older guys playing AoE2.

  • I remember when me and three more friends began play Lan this game 1 year ago.

That was awesome, but now its only 2-3 of us who play weekends.

Age of empires 2 is a GREAT Lan game. I still love playing it. :D

  • Age of Empires I and II were better than the III because in the III it was more little bit modern because I got bored of learning the History of the United States, but the Ancient and Medieval are the best history to me.

Age of Empires I and II forever is popular and I will always remember this best game in the world forever and ever.

    Amen!

  • awesome :p

  • tonight, me and my friends played that shit! its awesome!

  • @styggemannensatan Thank you sooooo much

  • :( Brings back so much memories...

  • yeah it does :)

  • THANK YOU!

  • What is the specific name of the piece? I would like to search it on ultimate guitar so that I could play it :)

  • omg memories sweet memories

  • 100% copy from the old msn gaming zone at : Voobly

  • damn.

    im screwed

i have no music in AoK

    someone help?

yes i have a pirated one

  • @TheDutchHobo

Are you running it on a vista?

  • Yep.

  • Vista + AOK = not stable. Sorry, but you'll need to find a fix online. I know none for Vista.

  • damn kk thanx anyways

  • The music comes from the CD, not the game files.

  • I just close my eyes and listen to the music

The best game music out there I say!

  • WOW, such good music! Man, I used to play this game for hours with my cousins ... the good old days. :(

  • biggest horror story of my life: I can't get the demo on mac.... I hate mac :(

  • homus

  • Such amazingly graceful music... This made Age of Empires, an already top notch game of it's time (and a healthy competitor today) just that much better.. Games don't have the good quality of music they used too...

  • I'm still trying to find a better game....

  • I'm afraid you will fail at that

  • AOE II was the best. AOE was good and AOE 3 wasn't my trip. I think the medieval / old age ambiance was better.

  • definitely

  • @D4rkBl4de cuz we either research and learn it in school a lot

  • @D4rkBl4de You are totally 100% right.

  • @D4rkBl4de OMG I TOTTALY AGREE .... old ambiance is usually the best

  • @D4rkBl4de

    Exactly my point of view...

What I loved about playing this as a child of about 8 or 9 years of age was that it always was so inspiring

i always wanted so much to draw medieval cities and battles after this and thats what i did...ah memories :-)

  • @D4rkBl4de All 3 were some of the best games I have ever played. NOt sure about aoe online looks kinda wierd.

  • @D4rkBl4de Age of Empire 3 should of allowed you to play in Europe I allays fought that and will.

  • makes me all nostalgic ...i seriously miss this game. Its a shame they took down zone. Great time, great game.

  • Rogan?

  • Whololoo!

  • iswar

  • trebutchets suk knights are the best and archers/longbowmen

  • Trebuchets are for destroying buildings not killing people you idiot.

  • u can dum turd why the fuck do u need to be rude i bet u have anger managment

  • no he doesn't its just that you only talk bullshit

  • AOE III was okay but AOE II Conquerors was the best. They should remake it with nowaday graphics and use the same exact music along with some new ones. New units more expansions more campaigns. Better online and more buildings blowing off. Ships can now fire full broad side (I hated it when the Turtle Ships just shot from the mouth area) Better sound effects.

  • You can't imagine how much I agree!

  • @Deathofblades didn't the companny that make it go bust? Ithink aoe3 was a failure aoe 2 and aom are the best

  • @TheAlexagius

Naw, the recession knocked ES outta the picture after Halo Wars. Most of the guys from ES trasferred to ROBOT entertainment. They're responsible for updates and possibly aoe4.

  • @Deathofblades dude esemble studios is dead... *pats back*

  • @Deathofblades can't. The studio who made the fantastic series closed because of money problems. :'(

  • @Deathofblades that is my dream :P

  • @Oszy1korn I know but I think Ensemble Studios is too poor. Seriously if I change my mind about majoring in Architecture I swear it's going to be game designer and I'll remake this thing.

  • @Deathofblades Too bad the company that made those games no longer exsists =/

  • @beefcake40001 If I were to grow up and hated engineering then I would resort to game designing. I would get a contract to get the game name and all of the music in the game. I'd hire a team of developers and work on the game. Use the old music except add a little twist to it to make the music sound more smooth and clean. (Not modernizing by adding some corny techno beats but making it sound much better). But oh well. Dreams can come true or they cannot : /

  • @Deathofblades try age of chivalry

  • I have the CD. :P

  • Anyone know of similar music to this? I can't find anything like this.

  • 'Cause it's one of the most unique pieces of music ever...

  • not true.. there's bound to be artists like this. There just not very known.

  • Ionno. Oblivion has unique styles of music.

  • @Deathofblades Yeah, but AoE2 owns Oblivion's music.

  • A lot of medieval video games feature this style of music, you might be interested in yasunori mitsuda he does a select few pieces like this, he did the music for Chrono Cross, and Chrono Trigger... In any case, even the artists responsible for this song make a wide variety of music, so its hard to say.

  • Chrono Trigger has great music, as well.

  • I have so many good memories of this game : )

  • Oh man (sob) i miss this game so :( (bust into tears)

  • Damn...i do remember for this songs...but from a veeery long time ago...Maybe when i played with the demo. But...this melody...Praise...have to got it.

  • ive played the aoe 2 and 3 even the grapics of 3 is better i prefer the aoe 2 on game plays

  • This game mixed with some other classics formed my game likings :)

  • This is a Conquorers song, isn't it?

  • AOE III was a completely different game than AOE II, i wouldnt call it sequel, it was 3D, AOE II was in Matte, different type of music, different spirit, different stories, but i still enjoyed it anyway, but it never beats AOE II

  • I'm 18 now. I play AOE since i was 9. And even now i play it almost every week. It's so relaxing. And not to mention, that game helped me at school really much. I spent days with my friend talking about this game. It made Medieval period my favourite, and made me love that music. Thank you so much for the upload!

  • SAME! I could even say this game (as well as civilaztion III) shape my life quite a bit! This game is thoughtful, but so... well I don't know the word for it... but just awesome =]

  • So many brilliant memories with this music....

    Thanks for uploading!

  • Age of Empires III is shit compared to the beauty that was Age of Empires II!

  • exactly!=D

  • @styggemannensatan well the music yea. but the 3D is sooo much better then AOEII if ya ask me.

  • @styggemannensatan I agree, but don't forget the magic the first one had...

  • @styggemannensatan I still prefer AOE .

  • @styggemannensatan agree but damn if they just updated the graphics it would be even more awsome :D

  • agree

  • So true!

  • @Griesmayer you are right age of empires III is not better than the II

  • I remember seeing this game for the first time at a friend's, it really had fabulous graphics!

Later I got it and the expansion (which you really cannot play without once you get used to it) and played it a lot. And yes, the music is really really good. I remember putting the CD into the stereo just to listen to it... tho it always cut at the 74min limit :(

  • the real game cd?? its a soundtrack included when you buy it??

  • Yes! Most of the the soundtrack (except the menu music, which is mp3) is stored as normal CDDA audio tracks on the original CD.

Tho as they exceed the 74min limit, many older CD players will have trouble playing the last part.

  • NICE, now I got the whole soundtrack without searching searching amazon and beay for one :P

  • A soundtrack was included in a collectors edition which came out about 8 years ago. If you can find it on eBay or something your might be able to get the soundtrack CD.

  • when you buy the cd, insert the cd into your drive, and if you have iTunes installed, iTunes asks if you would like to import it. i have the soundtrack and its awesome to listen to when im doing homework or whatnot.

  • dood! u just posted my post! wenever i do my history or watever im listening 2 aoe2 soundtrack on my iPod lol :P

  • lol just type "AOE II SOUNDTRACK MEGAUPLOAD" on google, why would you waste money when u can get it free?

  • No idea why your comment was -1'd.

  • lol i dunno, maybe it someone who works in the anti-piracy industry perhaps?

  • I don't remember this song... What map was it on?

  • Umm...The music wasn't programmed for maps. It always played...

  • Yes Age Of Empires 1 is better than aoe 2 because is classic and much more realistic gameplay and soundtracks

  • I prefer aoe 1 for gameplay, aoe2 for music :)

  • They don't make good games such as the classical ones... They should remake theme and get better graphics, but same gameplay and soundtrack/sounds

  • when i was 4 i walked past my study going into my room and i saw that my dad was doing what i now know to be the aoe2 tutorial. i sat on his lap and played more than he did xD

now i'm 15 and STILL play. my life would probably be totally different if i had never come across it.

  • Same almost goes for me, but my brother played it instead of my father

  • everyone remembers this game, from your childhood, from going round to a mates, its legendary. everyones got memories from playing this game.

plus you can get the soundtrack off the disk by putting it in and then opening and ripping it on windows media player. its like 30 mins long :p got all the music including this. discovered it by mistake lol.

  • 14 here, i loved this game as little

  • This game was and still is one of the gratest games ever imo.

  • where did you get it from?

  • WAH NA NAHHHHHHH

  • 17 here, same thing for me as for Fireflyman. I still play this game sometimes.

  • I'm 15 and I still love the game. Absoloutly epic music and great gameplay.

  • totally agree! It's the game of all time :D

  • 16 here, im safe to say this game infulenced my life I loved it that much - and made me like history =)

  • 20 here, same with me, I hated history until I played this game. haven't played it in a while but I miss the illustrated mission briefings.

  • Just Great!

  • Love it...makes me wish i was a knight, XD.

  • live to be only 35 years old good luck

  • OH MY GOD! This music gives me shivers. I've got so many memories connected to it. I spent my childhood on AOE (all editions through to "the conquerors")

  • me too DnyIF1, although i am only 15 but when i was younger i would always play this, my dad showed my this game and i miss it so much

  • Thats exactly my story as well(right down to being 15)!

  • agree to KarntheHellknight, there are a lot of games for a lot of likes, it depends of what ya want, i prefer strategy but i use to play also other genres like survival horror, sports etc, the point is that you have fun :)

  • =')

  • 2:03 Epic x1000. <3<3<3<3

  • My friends and I still LAN this occasionally, it's still as great as it was back in it's glory days. :)

  • Its glory shall never end. :)

  • You don't know what you say. Still a lot of people play it because it stands 4 fun!

  • Uh no. It might be fun, but its old. You can't say its not.

  • Age is irrelevant to the amount of satisfaction you obtain from a game. For example, the original Doom is a half million times better than the horribly shitty reboot, Doom3.

  • What's your point?

  • The point I'm trying to make is that you are trying to imply that the age of a game holds some form of relevance to how great it is considered.

  • thanks, i hate doom 3-all they focused on was gore, gore, and more gore, i dont want to see that! I'm there to play it, not to see peopel split into four quarters when i shoot them! jeez...
