I think the algorithm for detecting the knock is an awesome enough exercise in microcontroller programming. Plus candy? AWESOME.

The dispenser would probably work better if you had a funnel from the globe that was only the size of one ball, so only one could fall into the "pac man mouth" at a time, without the worry of being jammed.
