I actually talked to some local talent agencies, where I got a majority of the zombies. I basically held a casting call to find the family, and let the talent agencies know if any of their clients wanted to be in a (non paying) zombie movie, to show up on a certain day.

Whoa BOY did they show up! Most with their own makeup!
