  • thisis also one of my favorite movies, i am of Swedish/German descent. and as a young child i watched this movie with my mother, as my father and brothers were out on a scouting campout. it was a good bonding movie for us, and i always remember this movie and how brave she was in that movie. I told my mother that she reminded me of her. My mother has been the strongest role for me in my life.

  • There's a possibility I am related to her. My family has a Hungarian/German background, and her husband was of Hungarian decent. I tracked my last name Sabo, and I found out that it is the Americanized spelling of Szabo.

I can't be 100% sure, but the thought of having a relative who was so important in the war is pretty interesting.

  • @csabo07 Szabó is one of the most common family names in Hungary. Similar to Smith in England.

  • Violette Szabo lived in South London. There is a housing estate in West Norwood [Vincennes Estate] and one of the blocks bears her name. And the names of other resistance operators.

  • This is one of my all time favourite films

    Thanks for posting it
