  • love love love - both versions

  • I fucking hate this band. Orpheus rocks.

  • i love greg york

  • Jim Carrey just made this song good

  • I cant find the time to tell you..that this is the best song ever made 4me at least!

  • Has this song ever been on a CD by Hootie and the Blowfish? It should have been! This is a wonderfule song.

  • @roadglide21 just track down the ORIGINAL band that made this song in 1968-ORPHEUS. THis band destroyed the song.

  • 4 people are retarded.

  • Not Bad Darius,Not Bad at all!!!

  • Why is Jim Carrey peeing in a handicapped guy's car from Me, Myself and Irene coming to mind?

  • @Donnymac GET YOUR COCK OUTTA MY CHRYSLER, YOU SON-OF-A-BITCH!!! I'LL KILL YOU!! I'LL KICK YOUR ASS!!!!!!!! *throws walker at car*

  • What a beautiful rendition of a sweet love song!!!Orpheus is proud of you boys,no doubt!

  • Let me guess... the black guy is Hootie and the 3 white guys are the Blow Fish? Am I correct?

  • Oh, now girl!

  • great song, thanks for sharing.

  • fabolous thansk for sharing aris xxxbabs

  • Great post - Darius Rucker's rendition is absolutely the best version, though Bruce Arnold's is the classic. Heard it on release on the East Coast (Cousin Brucie & WABC) as I was coming back from Nam. Great memories! Thanks for doing this.

  • I love the idea of the back to back.. only Orpheus should be first as they are they wrote and sang it first.. LOL... Thanks for the post.

  • I have loved this song from day one. I dedicated it back in 1993 to my honey Joe, God rest his soul. I looked at his pretty face and fell in love every time, just like the song. Hootie does it really just at good as Orpheus. Great song, brings back memories.

  • ahhh...i see

  • During the 1980s, I attended a Bonnie Rait concert. She announced that Southside Johney had stopped by to say hello, but she insisted that he stay to play harmonica on a song. Unfortunately, headliners today usually perform scripted concerts with neither surprises nor guest performers. The fact that Hootie invites B Arnold to appear at their concerts and sing with them shows real class.

  • I was lucky enough to see Orpheus in person when I went to college in Boston in 1969. I had their albumn too...my poor roomate...musta' heard it 1000 times...lol

  • i know stephen martin of the original orpheus.....the original is far better than this could ever hope to be. ive seen it played at open mics by some of the band members...it was great

  • Steve Martin was a member of Orpheus for the fourth album, which was not good. He was a content contributor for the first three albums.

  • Steve Martin songs were only on the first and fourth albums.

  • this is going to sound weird i like this song but the part of the second verse where he says''i look at your pretty face'' that little verse i really like that part the most ,,,great song

  • @yogie1976 you fucking weirdo!!!! fuck you, damn weird person

  • ME MYSELF AND IRENE

  • i love this song! but the first version sound better

  • There are over a dozen covers of my song Can't Find the Time. I like Hootie's the best. They invite me to sing it with them when they tour the west coast.

Check out my Facebook page: Bruce Arnold-Orpheus.

  • It's great to see that you're still out there. I'd still love to see the original group together ... for me it was pure magic.

  • I think all three versions of the song are really good.

  • not my usual genre but loved it- deffo in my top 5 songs :)

  • A GREAT song performed two GREAT bands! FJA New Jersey

  • Although both versions are fantastic I've got to go with Hootie & The Blowfish. Much better vocals by Darius.

    My new favorite song. LOL

  • I've heard this great song(Orpheus) a million times on the radio growing up. I can't believe it wasn't even a top forty hit?

All the airplay that it gets on classic oldies radio, you would think it was a smash?

    Kind of strange. Great tune.

  • I assume your lyrics are to Hootie's version. There are errors. He's saying "baby you're wrong" not "maybe you're wrong." Also "Nightgowns with regal lace." not "real lace."

  • Oh, I'm sorry. Looks like I've misspelled your name. Blurry vision. Poor me. Hugs!!!

  • HELLO TRADERFLIES, What can I say? You've spliced these songs seamlessly! Well done. Both versions are beautiful, but I wish you've started it with the original Orpheus version then followed by Hootie. Don't fret, you've still done a great job. Care to dance? (hehehe...)

  • i like the regular verssion

  • My girlfriend introduced me to this song, and we use to sing it in the car together. One morning she started going ba da da da da. lol. Good memories. I miss her... ): Wish things were different. This is a decent song... Makes me sad and think about her...

  • same here- painful memories ;(

  • @KrazeD1st I miss her too, wtf shat on a turtle?

  • @KrazeD1st she is doing more than singing this with her new boyfriend. GET A LIFE.

    LOL

  • @erwi2906 well that's fine I'm happy for her! I also am not worried! Many men may go where I have already been! Speaking of which we made love everyday for the entire time that we were together without protection! And I just found the time to tell you! Enjoy!!! LOL and stay out of people's business!!! (:

  • @KrazeD1st

    Ugh. Get a life.

  • Darius sings "Ba da ba..." instead of the correct "Ba da da..." The reason for this is because Hootie went off the 1968 sheet music provided by the band's notorious and very dishonest "Producer" and publisher, Alan Lorber. Despite the fact that Orpheus leader and songwriter, Bruce Arnold, had warned people away from the consumer sheet music due to it's incorrect lyrics and simplified chords, Lorber apparently "didn't get the memo" and as a result Hootie sings it the way it was printed in '68.

  • @KrazeD1st

2 years have passed since you post this.... do you still remember her?

  • @Mirokon When you really love someone you will always remember her/him

mine its been 4 years and i still love her thats why i had to move away from everything i knew and start over

  • @lordzid667 Thank you....

    Move away...huh? ....

  • agree my friend

  • I was there in Boston during this time with Orpheus. the Beacon Street Union, Phulf, and The Joe Vando Band. This was great stuff. It is a tribute that Hootie covered this tune.

  • Sooooo romantic! (Orpheus does it best.)

  • me myself and irene woop woop!

  • Nice singers I love it

  • I love this song!! Both artists are great but Hootie is my favorite. Hooties voice is so distinct it makes the song.

  • all the things you couldn't find the right words for..

this song doesn't help you find those words BUT it sure does let you know you're not alone with what you're feelin'.

i miss my gf now lol AHH..ba da da da da da da...i can't find the tiiiime to tell youuuu

    <3

  • Both versions great.....the Orpheus one has a great hippie sound........

  • One of most underated songs ever !

    blowfish is nice...original better though

  • great song

  • oh plz baby, plz find the time to tell me^_^~

  • Thanks for posting this awesome song by both groups!! I love both versions. I agree it should have been a bigger hit. I don't think that it was ever played in the part of the country that I lived in the late 60's (Western Nebraska). I wish that it would have been played around here.

  • That's interesting. I appreciate your opinion.

  • Che carina questa canzone..è da quando l ho sentita nel film "io me & irene" che l ascolto..e non me ne sn ancora stancato..

  • iv listened to the original, and its great. but i will alwayes love hootie and co, im missing the nineties badly.

    take me back wont, someone?

    come back with me.

  • Song was released in the 60s by Orpheus, almost a beach tune. I love Darius and the whole group. This remake was great. This SC boys can do anything. I certainly have Carolina Pride in these guys. They are so well grounded and are truly great guys. Thanks for posting
