  • Love this video and you're very easy to follow. Can't wait to watch the rest. I will definetly try making this one.

  • great work !

    may this question be allowed:

did you ever see a bracelet be broken because its just bended wire?

would it be better to solder the links before linking it together ?

    best regards,

  • Excellent tutorial. Very informative. Can't wait to try this. I look forward to many more of your videos. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. :)

  • @ScreeminMeeme

Thanks!! Glad you like my videos!

  • Thank you! This video is worth many units in a college jewelry making class. Your generosity is much appreciated.

  • @electriclolly

    Thanks for watching!!!

  • This is beautiful! What level of difficulty would you say this is? I am a beginner to wire jewelry making but this does look do-able!

  • @MsPenchi

Although the Egyptian link involves a series of steps, it is very doable. I teach this to my beginning students, and after some practice they all create outstanding necklaces. I hope you enjoy making the Egyptian Link necklace, and thanks for watching my videos!

  • wow! awesome. n u didi superb job in explaining thm.m off to purchse the wire n do this n m subscribing to u.

  • @gun327 Great - thanks!

  • U said in the 1st video that u used a 5 1/2 piece of wire? no wonder my links are smaller then yours! oh well I still like your work, thanks again......

  • I want to make one! :) I will try!!!!!

  • @betsaification

    Thanks for watching my video!

You can purchase nickel silver wire from any good craft or jewelry supply store. I use 20 gauge wire when I make the links in nickel silver, and .035, soft, round when I make them in sterling silver. I purchase my sterling silver wire from Myron toback inc.

  • Where can I buy the wire? thanks!

  • Great vid but could you just show us how to make one and then use prev made ones to show us how to link them?

  • Your videos are awsome. They've helped me out a lot. I'm just starting out making jewelry, and the sterling silver really caught my attention. Thanks!

  • @len3449t Great- good luck to you! Glad the videos help.

  • Aww Sirr this is pure awsomeness ,yesss ! thank YOU!

  • @launicayoly2 You are welcome! Thanks for your comment.

  • My spirals got so much prettier and uniform since watching this! Thank you!

  • @salexander1101 Great! Part of that is also lots of practice! Thanks for commenting.

  • Wait....come back... where did you go?? How do I finish this?? do I add a clasp to close the chain and how?? Use my fantasy???

  • I like it tooo much ... but i want to know how many part of wires to make the necklace?

  • @habhob10 If you refer to the number of links for an average necklace, I use 56. A 6-inch piece of wire makes one link. If this is not what you are asking, please let me know.

  • @realisticart thank you ... that's exactly what I ask about it

  • Thanks for responding. I made earrings and necklacesusing your Egypt technique .

  • @Yongchundaiquan Great!

  • Oh my gosh! It looks so good when it's even just got four links! I can't wait to make it and you are really good at making wire jewelry. I don't even care if mine doesn't look as good, I haven't had as much practice and I'll still be proud of it. I wanted to make a pretty necklace, and now I can thanks to you. So yay! :-D

  • @DaBlondeTwins Terrific! I am glad you enjoyed the process. That's what counts. Thanks for your feedback!

  • Fantastic!

  • @eac2586 Thank you!

  • I assume you are using jewelers needle nose pliars that are smooth and not ribbed correct?

  • Yes, I use jewelers needle nose pliers. The ribbed pliers would damage the wire.

  • excellent work and very good explanation, thanks

    share.

  • @Crisaxesory Thanks for you comments - I appreciate that very much!

  • hi realisticart, thanks for the video, it was easy to follow. i'll be watching for other video's you've produced. i do have a question in general: do you know what kind of metal to use to make a push/pull clasp? the kind where you pinch one piece and push it into the other piece then release it and it springs back up securing both pieces together. i tried making one but used the wrong type of metal and it doesn't spring back up. any help you can give me will be appreciated. thanks

  • Thanks for watching my video! You might want to try 20ga nickel silver, then after you form it, hammer it lightly on an anvil to give it added resiliency.

  • excellent! im going to try this now :-) Thank You

  • Excellent tutorial - very clear and easy to follow. Please fo more

  • I see the wire is round soft, but, is it 20 gauge, 19 gauge? thanks....

  • Use 20 gauge Nickel Silver.

    or

If you use sterling silver, use .035, which is around 18 gauge.

  • ok thanks so much... was just working on some wire rings.....

  • @realisticart > I am confused about the gauge for the sterling silver one: 18 gauge is 0.048 inch and .035 inch is actually 20 gauge (0.036) according to some charts I have found. Which one should I use? Thanks

  • @ullaernstr i dont really think it matters 2 much im not an expert at this so i can b wrong but if u use a smaller gauge then u should just make it smaller...i hope this helps

  • thank you so much... I am new to the world of wire wraping.. My father is a jeweler by trade and I always wanted to learn... but fear of the torch and buffing machines etc. too harsh for me... and I love jewelry... Now I can still enjoy making jewelry with a much easier method.... thanks... all info is appreciated...

  • Are you going to show us how to put the finishing closure on it? or did you already show us? thanks...

  • Hi, I'll post a video on the closures that I make for the Egyptian Link sometime during the weekend. Thanks for looking at it.
