  • peccato il cembalo sia troppo in primo piano

  • no existen palabras para describir ... siento cada nota del clave..la expresividad de la flauta y las cuerdas...es bellisimo...divino...una obra maestra!!!!

  • Beautiful music. Crappy video.

  • So very beautiful! I do wish the videographer had been a bit less enamored of his own art and more focused on the beauty of both music and setting. All those prolonged double exposures are dizzying and distracting from the lovely setting and the music.

  • @davehshs Why can not this videographer also attempt to elevate HIS art to higher level of beauty as he has done ? IF you really don't care for it, don't watch & just listen. To many see this as a detriment to what they feel should be "diva" status of just the Rameau. I feel the videographer has done a grand job of a pastel & blended "viewpoint" of the musical pairings and how the environs would actually feel & what images would be recalled from being there. The lighting is period & exquisite.

  • @composer369 I agree with you about the "period & exquisite" lighting. Unfortunately, IMO, the "blended 'viewpoint'" often obscures the period images that the lighting might otherwise reveal. At times, it almost appears the videographer is trying to capture a drug-induced vision of the period decor. It probably boils down to a matter of personal taste: I'm not against clever and innovative videography, just this particular example.

  • i love their hair!!

  • Simplesmente perfeito

  • Is this an arrangement?

  • @ahgblopes yes it is, the original is violin, viola and harpsichord

  • @TheProphetEliza ...and Baroque flute.

  • When we unlock that old door we think on the last time we walked to our special garden and why we entered into peace. We need to get away much more frecuently to that specail getaway and never allow anything get in the way of our Camp David!

  • Why did you make so much video effects?

  • the music is awesome

    the video is...weird

  • damn beautiful

  • Rameau, c'est beau !

  • Sublime. I would love to see more of Herr Mainz's dancing. Do you know where one might obtain such? Thanks to everyone who uploaded from this DVD. I am utterly enchanted to finally discover the French Baroque : ) I was deaf and now I hear xoxoxox

  • Give me Rampal anytime over this bushwah.

  • Gorgeous music, excellent performance, nicely filmed and a beautiful location! But if you're going to wear 18th century period costume to enhance visual atmosphere, why not be accurate and wear wigs?

  • @lichtbroeder LICE!

  • Very beautiful images and performance. Thanks for sharing :)

  • wondeful !!!!

  • estupendo

  • OMg, I love RAMEU!!!

  • There're tears running through my face while I listen to this...

  • I would like to see Il Giardino Armonico record a vido with their beautiul music in Veneria Reale, Galleria centrale, in Torino.

there is scarcely more beautiful architecture in Europe.

  • i think that viola da gamba, was more Advanced than cello

think of this, it has 6 strings and frets !!!

ans some people play it over his leg (like a guitar) thats why its called viola da GAMBA

    GAMBA = LEG.

it was very similar to a guitar, or to a 6 string bass

que buen video !! aguante el baroco !! BAROCK!!

  • It has seven strings.

  • @tommyIglesias It's called viola da gamba because it is held BETWEEN the legs.

  • please forgive my ignorance.

    0:51 what instrument is that?

  • it's a viola da gamba, i'm sorry but i don't know the english name..

  • Looks like a Viola Da Gamba

  • If one wants to know what it is like to fall in love with life-- enjoy this sensuous music. It is everything sentimental one could be captured by.

  • And totally senza vibrato!

  • Tutto con vibrato ma il justo

  • perfect!!!

    Video great!!

    Wonderful!!!

    Cesar Amaro

  • Thanks for the upload!!!

  • Right!

I had to go to work today.

I had to clean my room.

Had to take the garbage out, etc.

---I like 'Il Giardino Armonico' so much I had to get the box set!

  • I just had to have it!

    ---It is like a 'splurge'

    Understand now? : )

  • I had to invest in a 11 CD boxed set of Baroque music from 'Il Giardino Armonico'

---They are at the 'top shelf' of the genre.

One of the very finest Italy has to offer!

  • Great setting.

    Great costumes.

And of course,..Great music is what it is all about!

  • You guys are just the heroes. Siete grandissimi

  • Just...perfect!

  • I love the music you upload. I'm a big Purcell fan and Rameau's music is exquisite too.

  • perfectly lovely

  • Increible, es verdaderamente hermoso el estilo barroco, ojala todo sea de esa forma.

  • Wonderful !! Thank you so much... I can not help but feel regret that I did not learn to play any instrument. It would have been so joyful to do. However now I enjoy listening to these gems !!

    Thanks again.!

  • It's never too late! You can still learn.

  • I agree! You can learn even now, jasjjb!!

  • gracias por subir esto... no conocía a Rameau, ni nada del Barroco frances... y el uso del clavecín y la flauta traversa es genial.

  • Wonderful playing! Who's the traverso player? Is there a DVD available of this yet?

  • There is performer's information on this posting's content.. Anyway, Traverso player is Giovanni Antonini. Currently, He is ensemble - Il Giardino Armonico's director. And of course, This DVD was sold from several year ago. Maybe, will be recently selling. DVD's title is 'Music of The French Baroque' Anyway, Thank you for your comment. Good luck! :)

  • I AWARD THIS 5 LANCRETS...This playing is agogically marvelous and...dare I say?...perfectly balanced with it's affect.

The flexible timing of the cembalist sets the tone with bullseye precision here. They play as one instrument.

  • Utterly sublime. I want to live in that room.

  • @Kneenibble Me too : )
