no existen palabras para describir ... siento cada nota del clave..la expresividad de la flauta y las cuerdas...es bellisimo...divino...una obra maestra!!!!
So very beautiful! I do wish the videographer had been a bit less enamored of his own art and more focused on the beauty of both music and setting. All those prolonged double exposures are dizzying and distracting from the lovely setting and the music.
@davehshs Why can not this videographer also attempt to elevate HIS art to higher level of beauty as he has done ? IF you really don't care for it, don't watch & just listen. To many see this as a detriment to what they feel should be "diva" status of just the Rameau. I feel the videographer has done a grand job of a pastel & blended "viewpoint" of the musical pairings and how the environs would actually feel & what images would be recalled from being there. The lighting is period & exquisite.
@composer369 I agree with you about the "period & exquisite" lighting. Unfortunately, IMO, the "blended 'viewpoint'" often obscures the period images that the lighting might otherwise reveal. At times, it almost appears the videographer is trying to capture a drug-induced vision of the period decor. It probably boils down to a matter of personal taste: I'm not against clever and innovative videography, just this particular example.
When we unlock that old door we think on the last time we walked to our special garden and why we entered into peace. We need to get away much more frecuently to that specail getaway and never allow anything get in the way of our Camp David!
Sublime. I would love to see more of Herr Mainz's dancing. Do you know where one might obtain such? Thanks to everyone who uploaded from this DVD. I am utterly enchanted to finally discover the French Baroque : ) I was deaf and now I hear xoxoxox
Gorgeous music, excellent performance, nicely filmed and a beautiful location! But if you're going to wear 18th century period costume to enhance visual atmosphere, why not be accurate and wear wigs?
Wonderful !! Thank you so much... I can not help but feel regret that I did not learn to play any instrument. It would have been so joyful to do. However now I enjoy listening to these gems !!

i think that viola da gamba, was more Advanced than cello
think of this, it has 6 strings and frets !!!
ans some people play it over his leg (like a guitar) thats why its called viola da GAMBA
GAMBA = LEG.
it was very similar to a guitar, or to a 6 string bass
que buen video !! aguante el baroco !! BAROCK!!
tommyIglesias 2 years ago
It has seven strings.
Exodia64 2 years ago
@tommyIglesias It's called viola da gamba because it is held BETWEEN the legs.

I had to invest in a 11 CD boxed set of Baroque music from 'Il Giardino Armonico'
---They are at the 'top shelf' of the genre.
One of the very finest Italy has to offer!

gracias por subir esto... no conocía a Rameau, ni nada del Barroco frances... y el uso del clavecín y la flauta traversa es genial.

I AWARD THIS 5 LANCRETS...This playing is agogically marvelous and...dare I say?...perfectly balanced with it's affect.
The flexible timing of the cembalist sets the tone with bullseye precision here. They play as one instrument.
