If I could throw in my 2 cents on my own video, I'd say that I grew up listening to what we called screamo in the 90s. Bands like Orchid, Love Lost but Not Forgotten, Hot Cross, etc. I think people started referring to Thursday/H Heights as screamo because it was a lot of people's first exposure to grit vox so they were like "oh it has screaming, it's screamo". Real screamo would never be played on air. Too political/grating. Seriously, go get some Off Minor albums and listen to them all day.
