The first Splinter Cell def had the best score out of all Splinter Cell's and that's saying something because the score to Chaos Theory was really good too.
This brings back memories of climbing from scaffolding to scaffolding on a high wire hoping the guards wouldn't spot you so damn tense! and throwing cans in the opposite direction to lure them away. This game is just brilliant in every way.
Gamecube version of the first splintercell was the best of all, there were more options to execute actions in the missions and there was even a CG scene for when wilkes dies showing sam finish off the russian that shot wilkes and the russians body falls down and hits the scaffolding it was a cool scene and they got rid of it for the other console versions
Hey everybody! I have released my new album 'Progenitor' which has electronic music inspired by great games such as Splinter Cell. You can check it out and download it for free on my youtube channel if you're interested!
The air, the tension going through the missions in China is embodied in this music, and it brings back fond memories. Staying up late as a kid, trying to go through this levels, careful as can be. Just epic stuff.
@snookey1986, haha yes, their music is so well fitted into the enviroment and so ambient, i always set sam in a corner of whatever place im at so he's outta the way that has a good view and just listen and sleep. how'd u get the music on ur phone?
@spyfoxguy. yeah i understand exactly what you mean. conviction, all u do is quickly pass through levels brutally killing the overdose of enemies in the way to find out the twist of the story. in the classic splinter cell, u pay attention to the enviroment around you without being rushed and confused with the story.
this song really brings back the true memories of the real, classic splinter cell. it also brings back the times where i'd go to sleep listenin to this song, or the one from police station, defense ministry, or c.i.a. those were good times. thanks for the memories.
@TOPCOx64 I respect Ubisoft for changing it up, but the new game doesn't look like my bag. I find the gameplay and atmosphere of the originals to be volumes more engaging than many stories. Also, in general: the more enemy guards there are, the worse the game will probably be. In the originals, Sam's limited power made you respect your environment and enemies more.
i totally agree man, i dont think they can ever top the very first splinter cell game, and that impact it gave me. the music, atmosphere, everything just made it perfect. it isnt the same nowadays with the games, lost its depth..
@spyfoxguy Couldn't agree more. The abundance of enemies willing to kill you regardless of their chances of survival made GR2 just aweful. Something similar happened in SC3. Why the hell do they need so many guards on roofs, in cellars, etc.? Indeed, GR1 and SC1 made you respect the small things in the game, and in turn the game itself earned a lot of respect.
@TOPCOx64 Me too! I have most music from the 1st Splinter Cell game and the music from Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory on my phone and computer. All Splinter Cell games are really good! :-)
thank you so effing much, I've been walking around my newest campus here in China and I keep expecting the music from splinter cell 1 to come on, because holy crap they did a good job on the chinese levels! where's a stealth suit, badass goggles, and michael ironside's voice when you need them!?

I exhaled some air that ended up syncing with the beginning.
It felt enlightening. The shadows work in mysterious ways.

WTF i never new that sams voice was michael iron side
did he do the voice in every splinter cell or just this 1
101lekar 2 years ago
Yup, every one, including the upcoming "Conviction." I don't think other voice actors (Lambert. for example) have always remained the same though.
spyfoxguy 2 years ago
the voice of lambert was the same in all of them except for Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow, which was done bye the guy from the allstate commercials
