In the National Assessment of Educational Progress tests administered by the U.S. Department of Education in 2009--the latest year available--only 32 percent of Wisconsin public-school eighth graders earned a "proficient" rating while another 2 percent earned an "advanced" rating. GOOGLE IT, LOOK IT UP, DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH,, WHY SUPPORT THE TEACHERS ,,,WHAT ABOUT THE KIDS THAT ARE BEING PUSHED OUT THE DOOR WHO CANT READ, YEAH, HOW ABOUT SUPPORTING THEM INSTEAD OF THE "TEACHERS",,PLEASE WAKE UP
Teachers care about their students..just ask one. why do you think a teacher signs up for the job; the hours are long and the pay is crappy. American students are underachieveing for a number of complex reasons, and teachers are being used a a convenient scapegoat.
Consider the high child poverty rate we have in our country--14.7 million children, that's 20 percent. Think about the unispiring way our school system is set up based on tests and not fostering growth or creativity...
@TruthInExperience teachers make plenty of money,,,,they get off every holiday and the summers and for the amount of money they get, by the hour its big,,,but you can believe whatever you wish,,,,but the facts are still the facts,,,,the kids cant read and if they could id agree with you,,,if a car company put out cars with this percent, they would go out of business,,as would a restaurant or garage, or construction company,,,they are doing a very poor job,,,,just ask the kids who cant read
