i dont think phazers were ment for mountain riding, the track is too big for that little thing, but i love the regular phazer and its sound. if your going to get a mountain sled, i recommend skii-doo or articcat

Most likely. Make sure they're experienced turbo installers. If they screw up the install, you could grenade the motor, and no waranty......

The internet is you friend. I installed mine, but I wouldn't suggest it to just anyone. I took 5 hours. Plus some custom Mods of my own.

Any engine that is turbo'd, supercharged or "sprayed" is subject to mechanical forces that are easliy double that of a stock motor. At over 5000 kms on my sled, I've had no failures except for the exhaust-flex couplings. I Changed the plugs while the tank was off, and I'm on my second oil change. So Far so good IMHO.

I like the yamaha 4 strokes a lot but this video doesent sell the phaser to me --Sorry ---yea it only has 500 CC (Half of the other yamahas) but it seems to not have the quick reving HP the bigger machines have ,---Hopefully it is just this video --but I rode a Apex turbo last year and it had about a 1 second delay for the turbo to spool then it hit like a freight train pulling the skis till you let off the throttle. --I hope the lightweight phaser would be the same way

It easily does 100kms, or 60 miles on the 7 gallon tank. Thats not just trail riding, but mostly boondocking and full throttle climbs.

I use premium pump gas.

MC-xpress claims 140 hp at 12psi. I run 15 psi.

Top speed is 135km/hr because I geared it down for the mountains. You could gear it back up for the trail and get 180km/hr+ out out it.

How many times did you need re built your motor with it running that high of psi?

4680 kms, mostly full throttle hillclimbing. Motor is original, changed oil and filter twice now.

I installed it. I spent about 10 hours on it.

At the tme there was no supercharger available for the Phazer Mountain model.

I sure don't like the "look " of the intercooler on the supercharger kit. i'm sure I could easily build a nicer one in my kitchen.

It gets about 140 hp dude. Just buy a dragon 700 or something its lighter and stock get same hp and you pipe it to get 150. and more reliable.  But awesome sled

If you buy a Phazer you are limited to 160hp, if you buy a Nytro, you get 130hp out of the box, and 300hp+ if you decide to "force feed it".

A turbo'd Phazer costs roughly what a stock Nytro costs, give or take....

The Nytro and Phazer are entirely different animals as far as handling and ride are concerned. You'd have to ride 'em both to see what I mean.

Phazer is a 500cc, 80hp twin. Nytro is a 1049cc 130hp triple. Both on the FX chasis. Nytro has a bigger track than the Phazer.

My sled has 4200kms on it. Turbo was installed at 250kms. I ride the mountains, doing full throttle hillclimbs mostly. Never missed a beat, blown a belt, or ran out of fuel. I whacked a tree and replaced the left A-arm, not because it needed it, it justed looked bad. I just changed the oil and filter, adjusted the track, and installed my second drive belt. So far so good.

the point of a phazer is to beat the crap out of it, not horsepower. its yamahas lowest engine power model, the designed it to jump, not drag dude. how ever, add a turbo and it can compete, while getting the crap beat out of it.

Seems like that turbo cost more than you could buy an entire two stroke motor for. What happens when snow gets in and comes in contact with that 1100 degree Farenheit turbo? Hope they aren't cast iron, like on cars.

Pretty impressive, looks like it set up well and has good transfer! I must admit that the first time I rode with one I couldn't even take him seriously (it wasn't a turbo then). We laughed the whole day. I ride with a lot of four strokes (apex). Love the sound, hate the weight and in order to compete they have to put 4000-6000 into a turbo. Although the apex with a turbo is a one-dimensional hill climbing freakaziod.

Boondocker does not have a turbo kit for the Phazer Mtn. lite. They have to re-work the kit to fit models with reverse. I think they should look at a new intercoler that has a better fit, and finished look like MCXpress. (Just my humble opinion)
