@jepoipo that particular error did happened to me also and one of the main reason is that you loaded a corrupted OS into your USB...to solve it load another source of OS which is not corrupt or damage.

But if you use plain windows xp which doesn't exceed 1GB in size, the 2 gb USB would do...but it exceeds to that but no surpass 4gb, 4gb usb would do...other that you can used 8gb, 16gb, 32gb, 64gb usb respectively but so far i haven't seen source Operating System that exceeds 5gb even the fully customized one. thanks for asking.

@BroZDepic if you mean the source of your OS, I suggest the copy of your Windows XP Image should be extracted in a certain folder in the desktop so that it would be easy for your to locate it...remember the image should be extracted so that the software to use can read it and instantly load it to your flash drive.

guys.. for me... i can boot it from usb....but when a setup files are being copied from usb to hard disk, it won't copy ntldr, ntdetect,atadisk files. 3 files are not copied. why is that.... and setup aborts there.

I cannot select the harddrive. and the only thing i see is the actually bootable usb partition. And ofcourse...i tried it, but it failed due to lack of windows folder. @BARACUDAVICTORY hello bro, your problem is kind a HDD problem because the bios cannot locate it and usually the cause is the malfunctioning of SATA cable so i suggest replacing it that if you're using a desktop computer in which the HDD connector is SATA one. It did happen to me ones already so i hope this thing will gonna work to you somehow.

Incorrect title! This does not create a bootable XP USb drive, it creates a bootable USB drive to Install XP to a hard disk. You cannot boot XP from USB using this tutorial, you can only install XP using this tutorial.

@dkxylk13 I think you used the format utility of your Windows but if you have the copy of the software that i used there is a USB formatter included there you can select NTFS format before you can load the Windows in your USB...I hope this helped you somehow...or if you did it already i'm pretty sure that your USB is damage...
