I can't speak for the performer in this video, but Agbekor is a dance developed by the Foh and Ewe people of Ghana and Mali. It is one of the more well-known tribal dances worldwide because it was documented early and thoroughly by anthorpologists and musicologists before ethnomusicology really took off as a discipline. Agbekor is studied in colleges throughout the US and Europe - brought back by musicologists who recorded, interviewed, and studied under the traditional musicians & dancers.
