I've had one of these for a year or so now, I bought it off my mate for £400, bargain!!!, I still don't really understand it though, i generally fiddly with the filter XD, i understand the filter, envelope, and oscillators, but im sure there is a lot i'm missing out on
@Rrrrobbo I can get the arpeggiator and step sequences going too woohoo!, i find it hard to do anything other than find the squelchiest sound i can :)
Same problem as all of Korg's stuff. It was massively overpriced and very average.
The last Korg kit I ever bought, or ever will buy, was an M50, and it had the build quality of a Bontempi.
I do have a KP3, and a few electribes, and admittedly, I do like them, and use them a lot, but again, they were ridiculously overpriced, and two of the electribes have needed repairs, which isn't acceptable, considering the price of them, and the length of time I've owned them.
@albedoshader - To be honest, I am a bit of a beginner. I know how the filter sounds and it's basic properties. I went with the original microkorg but I'm thinking of trading up to the xl because it has more polyphony so I could play more complex chords. Is the filter sweeps and spacey patches better on the xl, in your opinion?
@novanine9: I don't know. I don't own either of both, I have an old Korg 01/W and a Korg Prophecy and I'm going to add a Z1 to my setup.
But you shouldn't ask which one HAS better sounding patches but rather how good they are for sound programming. Filter sweeps are possible with every VA synth today and the quality of sounds is rather a matter of learning how to use an instrument's possibilities.

I HATE HATE HATE those youtube speechbubble-style text inserts - one of the many reasons why your video is quite splendid amid to many visually and aurally challenging handycam demo vids.
It'd be nice to see some cut-aways to your frowning, concentrating brow as you consolidate every portion of your focus (i refer to all demo vids and not your brow personally!) keep 'em coming - i don't watch TV any more, so i rely on folk like you to keep me amused!
It's basically the main section of the Radias, but without the actual key section. If you're using a 73, or 88 note M3, then it attaches right next to the control part of the M3
ITS NOT as instant, and isnt multi-timbral either. You obviously lose all the hands on control to all the knobs on the original. Soundwise its on par, but its a bitch to program.
The M3 in general hasnt worked out for korg, as is evident from the plethora of second hadn units on EBAY , as well as all the offers the dealers keep plugging.
The sound is mono and doesn't respond full frequency range.

The Little Phatty does not make 'whingy' noises. You Sir, are an idiot. You have obviously never played one otherwise you would know differently.
ardubbleyu 9 months ago
haha it's euro-teckers. cool video. this can create a wide range of sounds. unlike the little phatty which just creates whingy noises.

ahaha i'm glad that you too are susceptible to the bass filter twiddle, although I suppose that is one of the main joys of synths XD

The song at 1:45 is an "intepretation" of a factory demo song of the first Access Virus.

Which synth has better sounding SPACEY AMBIENT RETRO PATCHES....this or the korg ms2000?
Does the radius have a lot of cool filter sweeps?
novanine9 1 year ago
@novanine9: If you use the filter for sweeping, yes. Do you know how filter sweeps work?

Can the expansion card do all the fabulous stuff your vid shows or does it have major limitations?
