I just finished watching the movie Fair Game, it was a great movie. To think our government would hide behind a skirt and disrupt someones family life with threats is hideous to think of. I was blind and now I see. After Bush's first term, I changed from Republican to Independent. After his second term and this mess; I quit. Our votes don't matter. What can we do? The American people need to take their country back. It is after all, our fault that (as Sean Penn said) we did not keep it a Republic and handed control over to a privileged few. When her cover was blown, they turned their back on true Americans. We did nothing. Including me.

I was a registered Republican for 25 years or so but then registered Independent and obviously by skipping Democrat and going Independent means that I could not find enough to agree with in either party. So I chose to vote the person and not party. I believe party lines exist to keep the people divided. Easier to conguer.

@bbphnix American's must register their party choice or they cannot vote. Only Democrat and Republican Candidates are permitted to participate in National Debates held on Public television. America is no longer a Republic on which we were founded(for the people by the people). Several other parties are: Green, Libertarian, Constitution parties. BUT the parties have to have a certain amount of money to be able to have a debate televised with the two Elite, Rich parties -Democrat and Republican.

Our government has run us into debt (over 14 trillion dollars); our credit rating is being lowered (we are no longer the richest and safest investment), our unemployment higher than it was in the great depression- the highest in history. In my town of only 100,000 people; last year 1500 homes were foreclosed on and over a 1000 were sold for 50% of their property value. The USA is in a sad state and it's getting worse.

@bbphnix But I chose to quit because I became disillusioned with the whole democratic process. If one chooses to pay really close attention, you will find that it matters not what the people want. Have you ever heard of the "know not laws"? They were implemented back in the late 60 and early 70's and they are exactly the title. The know-nots are us. It gave the FBI and CIA permission to infiltrate any group (peace movement, Martin Luther King movement) and to cause it internal destruction.
