I can't see why there was a need to film and get these officer's badge numbers. The police were called out for a legitimate complaint, they were doing their job and were pretty polite about it. Not only that, but the guy was willing to leave if the owners didn't want him there. There was no argument.
This is a great example video of how to deal with the police. You were not rude or a douche. Ive a had a few run ins with police over minor and semi-serious stuff and I was in the wrong nearly 100% of the time yet Ive only been booked a couple of times and convicted of a driving offence once, hell I once got pulled over doing more than 20kph over the limit on a probationary license and they let me go with a warning. Generally if youre polite to the cops and your infraction isnt too serious they will give you a break, at least where I live in Canberra

Harassed me after that every chance he got. I went to town meeting, told city council I would sue each and every one of them if they didn't control their attack dog. Cop was fired. Later found that cop lied on application. Said he had guard experience. He was ex-inmate from McAlester prison. And carrying a firearm!!!! Me, eagle scout and straight A student.

At 20, stopped one of our local town cops, Tim Cox. Said I was backing illegally into the street. Told him there was only one way in and one way out of the driveway. He says no, drive over the embankment. I told him, not going to tear up my vehicle. I'll show you how he says, jumps in the patrol car, drives over the embankment, Removes entire exhaust system.

Always ask for badge numbers. And when the police are courteous and reasonable - as was the case here - a complimentary letter to the local Chief of Police is in order. This will, over time, teach the cops that someone asking for their badge number isn't necessarily complaining.

I can't see why there was a need to film and get these officer's badge numbers. The police were called out for a legitimate complaint, they were doing their job and were pretty polite about it. Not only that, but the guy was willing to leave if the owners didn't want him there. There was no argument.

Ive a had a few run ins with police over minor and semi-serious stuff and I was in the wrong nearly 100% of the time yet Ive only been booked a couple of times and convicted of a driving offence once, hell I once got pulled over doing more than 20kph over the limit on a probationary license and they let me go with a warning. Generally if youre polite to the cops and your infraction isnt too serious they will give you a break, at least where I live in Canberra
