What of today's view on the old testament? Specifically Deuteronomy Chapter 22 verses 20 - 22: "But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel: Then they shall bring out the damsel on the door of her fathers house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father's house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you."
Uite un citat frumos din Enciclopedia Brittanica: "In recent years, the Chinese government has opened up to religion, especially traditional religions such as Mahayana Buddhism, Taoism and Shenism because the Government also continued to emphasize the role of religion in building a "Harmonious Society," which was a positive development with regard to the Government's respect for religious freedom."
Iraţionalii ca tine zici că au făcut cursuri cu Goebbels la facultatea de Fucking With People's Heads.
Quite stupid really. How can you hate God if you don't believe in him? Clearly you don't understand what atheism is.
Regarding Prometeus, I recommend you to see AtheismTV's rebuttal of your video (it's attached as a video response), I've checked Prometeus' story and I've found he's got the facts straight and you're plain wrong.
'Atheists are trying to rewrite science'?? Atheist MADE science! Or is science all about talking snakes, walking over water, a flat earth? Religion is a myth based merely on Belief, thats clearly the opposite of science which is based on Empirical research.
@ZZzzzzzWhat Some of the greatest thinkers of their time were eighter Christian or sponsored by the Catholic church - Coppernicus,Newton,Da Vinci,Einstein,Pascal - all religios people. And how can you "make" science? You can't invent gravity,it is already there. You discover it,not invent it.
@SnitchSeeker Sure some of those believed in 'god' but only because they had to or else.. Look at Coppernicus, he was arrested for life on the charge of heresy, just because of his scientific views. Yes kid, the church always oppressed the scientists, every time they said the Earth was round and not the center of the universe, the got tortured or arrested. (...)
(...) "You can't invent gravity,it is already there. You discover it,not invent it", no one claims its invention and no one wants to. Science is the only way possible to learn about gravity and every other natural phenomena. How can you say a 'god' made it if you don't even care for learning about science. "godidit!" is a manifest of ignorance.
Oh and btw, Einstein like most scientist believed in Spinoza's concept of god. A non abrahamic god who has no power to intervene in the laws of nature.
@ZZzzzzzWhat Coppernicus was sponsored by the Catholic church. It had no problem whatsoever with his discovery, which was OK.The church, however had a problem with Gallileo, who was brave enought to call them liars. That shook their authority,so they had to get rid of him.I don't justify what they did, just saying that if it wasn't for the chuch, these discoveries wouldn't have been made in the first place. The church sponsored every single scientis during the Renessanse.
@SnitchSeeker WTF? Neither Coppernicus nor Gallileo were sponsored by the catholic church. They had show their work to the pope because they lived under a Theocratic totalitarianism regime. Off course Gallileo called them liars, its because geocentrism is a LIE! "so they had to get rid of him" yap that shows the danger your church was to science, if they don't agree, "get rid of him". "discoveries wouldn't have been made in the first place" oh your god! learn something while you're young (...)
The church did not sponsor these scientists, they either were from rich families like Coppernicus or they were sponsored the the "mecenas" which were rich families(like the Famiglia de' Medici) who payed for art and scientific research. Da Vinci was sponsored by theses 'mecenas'. The church only sponsored artists to make their churchs artwor. when it came to science and literature the catholic church did a lot much harm than it helped, search for 'Index Librorum Prohibitorum' if u care to learn.
@ZZzzzzzWhat The church really did sponsore a lot of scientific discoveries during the Renessance. And the church is run by humans and humans make mistakes. The Pope was not only a religious leader at the time,he was a political one.Any leader that senses the people don't trust them anymore would everything in their power to gain that trust.I don't see a problem with God,I see a problem with the Church and humans.
@SnitchSeeker Sure, sure, the church "sponsor a lot of scientific discoveries" why don't you point out one of those? And no, Neither Coppernicus nor Gallileo were sponsored by the catholic church.
So the Pope was a totalitarian oppressive lieder just to "power to gain trust"? are you serious? do you also justify the inquisition and the book censorship(Index Librorum Prohibitorum)? Oh right, the Pope sponsored science the problem was that science gave him the answers he didn't like(...)
... therefore the torture and book burning, but that's all ok because they were only humans.
It's not that simple. If you are a catholic, the Pope represents you. He is human but his decisions are according on what your religion represents.
Oh and btw, i strongly suggest you to learn more about the Renaissance period, about Spinoza's concept of god, about the Famiglia de' Medici (their scientific patronage) and about 'Index Librorum Prohibitorum'.
@ZZzzzzzWhat Actuall Spinoza's idea of a God is what my idea of a God is.I'm not defending the Catholic church and the Inquisition, but religion did do good things, like build orphanages and hospital.I don't think the Pope can represent me or God.My religion is very personal. It's about me and my deity, not anyone else.
@VyckRo Um... yes they were. I understand you're not a mythologian. Nonetheless, you should read some mythology first... Oh, and btw, this video got a response: watch?v=pIkTJ3PyuXE&feature=feedlik
@VyckRo Yup, they were. Sorry ! But for that I guess you'd actually have to know Greek mythology... Proper noun Titan (plural Titans) 1. One of the giant gods in Greek mythology who preceded the Olympian gods. Oh, by the way, the video got a response. Would love to see your take on that.
Eproulx has tried some of this same stuff with me before. I had a long email conversation with him that I ended up having to cut off because he refused to read what I was saying, and also refused to present his evidence for evolution. He defends his atheistic/humanistic worldview with a religious fervor, and lies to others in the process. "And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient" -Rom1:28
Eproulx keeps posting his same false analogies, hoping that no one will catch what he's doing. He's comparing created objects/concepts to God. That's foolish. If God has to be created, he's not God. Created gods are, by definition, a delusion. However, created gods do NOT prove the non-existance of the True Living God. God does not have to be created. Eproulx is like a broken record, hoping other people will fall for this circular reasoning, and Youtubers fall for it repeatedly.
Your god is a delusion, you fool. He is nothing but the combination of many preexisting ideas: The god El of Canaan, YHWH Sabaoth, the war god of the Israelites, Marduk, champion of the Babylonian gods, Mythras, and the list goes on and on. Stop lying to yourself.
The "broad narrative" and "basic plot" sounds like mythology. When you break all history down to its basic structures then you end up back with mythology again.
I have just taught HI1021 at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, "Building Blocks of Modern European Culture."
As it mainly involved ancient Greco-Roman influences, I can state that Vyck's historical analysis here is dead on with the lecture materials provided by Prof Jane Stevenson, Regius Chair of Humanities. I'm sure any atheist would love to debate the Professor on history. She'd wipe the floor with anyone who didn't get their research in order. I should know - she is my PhD supervisor.
@VyckRo he does remain to the field he is specialized and in fact since you are saying he doesn't know what hes talking about, then what is he wrong about?

Hey VyckRo, what is documentary's name shown at 15:13? Would love to watch that! That proves absolutely that 1) Jesus wasn't a myth generated through collaboration 2) That it didn't take a hundred years after Jesus' death for Christianity to develop. Instead, it develops right after Jesus' death exactly for the reasons scriptures say. Great video!!
The larger point is this.
People have always been known to invent gods and the bible god is just another one of the bunch we made up.
If you doubt this, then cough up some objective evidence for this bible god and MAYBE we'll listen to you

Well, it shoudl be rather clear that there is no way to disproof or proof god.
And trying to use science to disproof a god, just works with believers, who are so backwards, that they do struggle with science anyways.
Commonly Christians want to argue for the existence of an all-powerful god, but what they miss is, that they limit their god.
Many theologeans agree, that god is not limited by the limitations of the human mind. Therefor god is not logic, he may transcend reality.
