What of today's view on the old testament? Specifically Deuteronomy Chapter 22 verses 20 - 22: "But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel: Then they shall bring out the damsel on the door of her fathers house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father's house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you."

This practice has clearly fallen out.

@ZZzzzzzWhat Coppernicus was sponsored by the Catholic church.It had no problem whatsoever with his discovery,which was OK.The church,however had a problem with Gallileo,who was brave enought to call them liars.That shook their authority,so they had to get rid of him.I don't justify what they did,just saying that if it wasn't for the chuch,these discoveries wouldn't have been made in the first place.The church sponsored every single scientis during the Renessanse.

The church did not sponsor these scientists, they either were from rich families like Coppernicus or they were sponsored the the "mecenas" which were rich families(like the Famiglia de' Medici) who payed for art and scientific research. Da Vinci was sponsored by theses 'mecenas'. The church only sponsored artists to make their churchs artwor. when it came to science and literature the catholic church did a lot much harm than it helped, search for 'Index Librorum Prohibitorum' if u care to learn.

It's not that simple. If you are a catholic, the Pope represents you. He is human but his decisions are according on what your religion represents.

Created gods are, by definition, a delusion. However, created gods do NOT prove the non-existance of the True Living God. God does not have to be created. I have just taught HI1021 at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, "Building Blocks of Modern European Culture."

As it mainly involved ancient Greco-Roman influences, I can state that Vyck's historical analysis here is dead on with the lecture materials provided by Prof Jane Stevenson, Regius Chair of Humanities. I'm sure any atheist would love to debate the Professor on history. She'd wipe the floor with anyone who didn't get their research in order. I should know - she is my PhD supervisor.

Well, it shoudl be rather clear that there is no way to disproof or proof god.

And trying to use science to disproof a god, just works with believers, who are so backwards, that they do struggle with science anyways.

Commonly Christians want to argue for the existence of an all-powerful god, but what they miss is, that they limit their god.

Many theologeans agree, that god is not limited by the limitations of the human mind. Therefor god is not logic, he may transcend reality.
