  • You know that you can load 3 in the mag and 1 in the chamber without having to go thru the fus of stuffing the shell down look at my video to see how.

  • @GreasyApple good vid! If you do it with the 3-1/2" shells you'll have to work them down like I showed. As you figured out, the 3" and 2-3/4" shells are much more forgiving and don't require much effort at all.

  • where did you get it , i cant find it anywhere

  • @MegaDeerhunter55 Bass Pro for mine but search for a Benelli dealer and they should be able to get you one.

  • What's the warranty?

  • What's the warranty?

  • Where did you buy it?

  • @agary8 I got mine at Bass Pro and paid a little more than the local shop had it listed but only because they had it in stock and I'm impatient. I still see them around at Bass Pro quite a bit, just search for a Benelli dealer and they should be able to get you one.

  • Where did you get it?

  • Hey Zach, sorry I was away for a while. I'm certainly not an expert on this gun but 50 rounds seems like it might be too few to fully break it in, especially if they're on the lighter side like a lot of the 1-1/8 oz target loads. I'd give it a few more rounds and see how it runs. I usually lube mine heavy if I'm target shooting and wipe it almost dry if I'm hunting (to keep the dust and other assorted gunk from sticking) and this has been a pretty good furmula for reliability.

  • cant wait going to get one tomorrow morning!!!!! HELL YEA!!!

  • Can you please make another video of you shooting the gun with the ghost load? We want to see if that's reliable to shoot and not have one explode one shell in our face.

  • @kali4nialorboy The gun is designed to feed off the carrier and has a mechanism to keep from releasing the shell in the magazine when there is already a shell on the carrier, when we "ghost load" this shotgun, we are doing the exact same thing as the normal firing cycle, just starting off with a shell on the carrier instead of the magazine so if you have an exploding shell in your face it will be from another cause. So yes, with the plug installed, you can shoot 4 rounds instead of 3

  • One question. If you ghost load the gun, wouldnt the ghost load shell also gone up to the barrel too? And if it doesn't, does that mean that you can shot four rounds?

  • Mine cycles the ghost loads like a champ!!! Good gun for less than $600

  • Just bought i carlson improved modified and my wont cycle any of the light 1 1/8 ounce not steel but lead but so far i have only shot about 50 shells of the heavy federal 3 inch 1 1/4 plz reply and let me know if i need to brake it in more??

  • @zachh72 mine will cycle them fine and I even got some 7/8 oz loads to cycle but I do have a few more rounds through mine. I'm guessing a little break-in will go a long way. I think my first few test runs were with a mixture of old duck and goose shells so probably a little on the heavier side. Mine shoots the remington 1-1/8 oz shells all day long now. Keep it lubed up a little extra in the beginning and it should break-in fine

  • @mosigdude Do you know how many you have through it i should probably shoot 3 more boxes of heavy goose and duck loads right? and have you shot the winchester universal thats the only kind i tried and it didn't like them. so i was just wondering. thanks.

  • @zachh72 idk i had the same problem i asked one of the local gun smiths and they said pull the whole gun apart clean evreything with rem oil cause they come form over seas and the grease that is on them can cause them to stick idk i realize u posted this 3 months ago but hope it turned out an is working great 4 you cause i love mine!!!

  • Haha I finally bought it in the 28 inch barrel in max 4 for my duck and goose gun hopefully it will hold up.

  • @zachh72 Sweet! Keep us posted on how you like it!

  • For years loca waterfowl hunters skirting the laws have used 'floating", guys in green will pull out there stick and verify you have a plug. Of course you do, but you have an additional round floating. Your video calls it 'ghosting', we call it 'floating'

  • @MsQuestor I'd heard it called floating too but couldn't find any reference to it, I thought maybe I was behind the times so I called it "ghosting" in keeping with other posts I'd seen, haha.

  • With a normally loaded such gun, you cycle the bolt, and it won't lock back, due to the inertia system and the bolt being actuated by the hand instead of recoil. I see that when it is ghost loaded it will in fact lock back. If one were to then do a slug changeover by dropping a slug into the ejection port, as one does, would it then attempt to feed both the slug and the ghostloaded round at the same time, resulting in a double-feed? Or would it load the slug as normal?

  • @joffeloff If I understand your question, you are talking about dropping a slug in while there is still a round on the carrier. It would attempt to double-feed so you would need to work the lower round under the bolt as shown in the video. Probably faster would be to sharply retract and release the bolt 2x then drop in the slug. Mine will not lock open if I do this very briskly but if I do it slowly it will.

  • @mosigdude Ah, I get it. This answers my question. thanks :)

  • @joffeloff if the shotgun is fully loaded normally (not not ghost-loaded) and has not been fired (which would put a shell on the carrier) you would simply retract the bolt (ejecting the chambered round) and drop the slug in, there would be no round on the carrier. You could then use the bolt release to bring it back into battery.

  • You should do a review one the stoeger M3500

  • @zachh72 I do like this shotgun so far. I'll do a more comprehensive review on it as soon as I get a chance to put it through its paces. I'll say it isn't my only 3-1/2" semi-auto but it is the least expensive of all that I currently own. I would have absolutely no problem recommending this to a friend. I really like that it has cycled absolutely everything that I've loaded it with. I'll probably buy extended chokes so I can change them without tools but otherwise I like it as-is.

  • @mosigdude Thanks i am gonna pick one up.

  • @mosigdude Thanks i want one so bad i got money saved up a lotta money and i don't want to be disappointed with a shotgun that won't work so i do want this one i have read great reviews on it.

  • Do you like this gun would you suggest buying one?

  • can you ghostload a stoeger m 2000

  • @01234567894350 As far as I can tell yes, it appears to be the same operating system but I will be the fist to say I haven't actually tried it since I don't know anyone with one. The exact same process should work on that shotgun if it's possible however.

  • Can you have the recoil reducer in it all time i mean with the lead and steel shells you don't have to take it out to shoot lead or take it out to shoot steel.

Also i am getting it in the Max 4 camo and have any of you guys had any problems with it?

  • @zachh72 so far I see no difference in function with it in or out. It does seem to tame the recoil a bit but has no negative effect on function with the light loads. Basically you're adding about 3/4 of a pound to the gun, I would guess that shooting styles, shooter size and stature would affect function more than a solid weight ever could. So far no problem, I think you'll be impressed!

  • Picked my M3500 up last evening....got it out today, run 75rds through it flawless. I did try the ghost load.....very nice also flawless function. My SBE 2 is great gun, but still very impress thus far with this Stoeger, highly recommended.

  • @fike301 Great price!! I think you'll be thrilled, keep me posted, I'm over 500 rounds into mine and impressed so far! Hope you're also happy with yours!

  • Just ordered the APG model for $549.....couldnt resist.

  • @fike301 Where did you find it for $549??

  • @wordmatthew Keep me posted on what you think of it. Sounds like with tax and all you'll still be way under 7 bills... it's hard to have a decent shotgun in that price range but I think this may be one of the 'sleeper' exceptions... You probably already know, but clean the "storage' lube off of it before firing and it should function better initially. Interested to hear if this is a consitent performer

  • I paid $619+tax for mine. I could've bought it from Bass pro for 599, but they didn't have the camo pattern I wanted, so I just got one from a local dealer. Can't wait to shoot it!

  • @fike301. Interesting, I'll take a look on the M1 Super 90 and see if it has the same. I'm guessing it will be. I wonder if that was an intentional design feature of just occurred as a result of another. I noticed on the M1 the carrier remains elevated longer as the bolt travels forward and the mechanisms will not allow it to be pushed downward early enough in the forward travel of the bolt to allow for the load under the bolt. Other Benelli models, as you discovered, will

  • @wordmatthew So far I'm impressed with mine. It isn't the only 3-1/2 semi-auto that I own but I am pretty happy with it. I'm somewhere around 500 rounds with it now and it's functioned flawless so far. Although I do clean my firearms after use (meaning I don't try to go all season without cleaning), I have noticed that these are silly-easy to clean and, exactly as advertised, the majority of the fouling goes out the barrel. Very clean shotgun even with dirty shells. You'll enjoy I think!

  • Just found out about this gun today. I'm looking to get a semi to go along with my 870. For the price, this is the best out there! Plus, being a sister company to Benelli, you gotta believe it'll run good!

  • @fike301 I don't own a SBE II so I haven't tried it with that shotgun but I did try it on a Benelli M1 Super 90 and it will not allow the ghost load either. I think you are right, a slight change in the action mechanism seems to prevent this at least in the version I tried. I've tried it without success in the Remington 1100 and 11-87 series also.

  • @mosigdude From what I understand its the 2nd notch on the bolt (closest one to the rear) that prevents this type of loading on the Benelli SBE 2?

  • just tried this on the Benelli SBE II.......will not work. I know the SBE I would allow ghost load......but something done to SBE 2 to prevent it?

  • I paid $599 but a friend of mine paid $579 (including tax) for the same shotgun, I was just more impatient. I'm now over 350 rounds into the shotgun without a malfunction and it seems to be broken in. It functions well with everything 3 dram-equiv and higher, this includes the Winchester, Federal and Remington promo-loads. I still haven't patterened the shotgun but it uses the conventional (non crio) benelli/beretta choke system so I expect that it will pattwrn closely. Impressed so far!

  • how much did it cost?

  • UPDATE: This shotgun is now a few hundred rounds further along and I've noticed that if unloading the shotgun manually and if the bolt is retracted briskly, the bolt now cycles normally (without locking open) after ejecting the chambered round. If I retract the bolt lightly, the bolt still locks to the rear... nice to have either option.
