  • One word.......MAGIC!!!!

  • David Crosby at 3:29 ....priceless...

  • Keep in mind when you say you wish you were young way back when ,kids in the future will be saying the same thing for the time we grew up - Me myself i grew up in the 80's and early 90's and i wouldnt trade it for anything - its a revolving notion that will always be! So enjoy your time and live with no regrets!

  • Wish I was 17 in 1969--Everything happened then! well, ya can't go back..Yet Thanks to all the Artists we get to enjoy that time Vicariously , and hey, that's cool! (I was 14 then, so i still was a Hippie and got the messages, loud and Clear ~! Music changed the world once then, why not let's Do that again now? Instead of Wall ST..anyone agree with that? • That bass is amazing

  • I think I had an orgasm at the end..............

  • Massive CSNY.

    Very nice.

  • Who is on Bass. What became of him ?

  • @grengd Greg Reeves, nothing sadly, prison I think, he was great, and so young at this stage. But yeah, nothing.

  • This is what a big sound looks like...

  • Great passionate music.

Shame it's been replaced by, 'how good do i look in my designer gear'?

  • music is so fucking real!

  • Damn hippies should be in the pool!

  • @idiotwinder Greg Reeves! He was about 15 there. Knew Rick James played with Neil Young. Reeves sounds like early drug casualty/visionary if you read his wiki page. Great great footage. I detest Stills for sacking Reeves, maybe it made Young leave, so that was a good thing too;)

  • Who's the black guitarist?

And Neil Young has always and forever been a peacul peacebringer, tru all the stages of his musical carreer so far. So much strong memories!

  • The second half of the recording of this performance is a missing treasure greater than the Ark of the Covenant and Montezuma's treasure put together.

  • @thechewydude Montezuma's treasure is buried in lake Tenochtitlan!

  • @thechewydude theres a bootleg of this performance.. google "celebration at big sur bootleg"

  • 6 cretini dovrebbero darsi all'aratura dei campi

  • Better than that, because it feels like its going somewhere.

  • Love this great song and love Neil Young's voice.

  • GOTTA LOVE IT...........

  • What concert is this?

  • DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHAT GUITAR CROSBY IS PLAYING ???

  • @topopops seems it is aGibson L6, top of the line solid top jazz guitar

  • @swingmanu Yeah, that's what I think too. Crosby always had the best guitars available.

  • @topopops It's a Gibson, probably an L-5 judging by that fancy tailpiece.

  • Why is the camera man in love with the least talented of the five. You have Stills and Young jammin and all we see is Crosby's rythum guitar ! Don't get me wrong - I am very greatful for such a gem. I've watched this 20 times. Simply AWESOME !

  • Anyone got spare pants? Me have cream.

  • Audio is great, people are great, music is amazing, but the video editing kinda grates on me, and the camera work could be better. Wish this vid was as awesome as it deserves to be.

  • Poor baby can't roll a decent jay. Need some help? ;o)

  • Thanks to CSNY for putting me on a 40 year career of playing guitar. They taught so many of my generation to play and free style jam, love em'. Neil Young the master of a one note guitar solo.

  • What a great tune. Neil Young is in a different realm than anybody else

  • This is one of the best videos and jams of all time....

  • What a fun time to be alive...

  • David Crosby grew that mustache in 3rd grade .

  • when I look at these videos & listen to the bands ... whoa, so hard to believe these guys were 24.

  • lol @ people in the crowd tripping face.

  • I love that hippie ass sound

  • It is like guitars having a great fuck.

  • @Cibavisioncorp LOL! I always said they're was a lot of MAN LOVE in those Stills-Young guitar duels.

  • DEAD

  • @ocd44 A very young Joan, yes.

  • Gotta love that guy at 4:22 rolling a joint!!!! Thumbs up if you're 420 friendly!!!

  • @DPGuitarman What is "Thumbs up if you're 420" ?? I see the joint, etc. I smoked pot for years and was a teen when this Concert was happening-It's a Great party eh? You can just Feel being there with the likes of CSNY Joan Baez and all the Legends of that time Gives me a "Rush" !!

  • @DPGuitarman very poor technique,and dirty fingernails

  • @bullikins In his defense. He was probably trippin' balls.

  • @DPGuitarman two seconds too late; otherwise, it would have been a great 420 moment.

  • @DPGuitarman tobacco

  • @DPGuitarman rolling one while listening

  • Epic jam to be sure! I would love to see the guest list! the Esalen Institute was a real nexus for so many creative societal threads.

  • @schlabresfan Wow seem we inhabit different planets, on yours all the demons are in one conveniently labelled basket. Gosh! politics must be so simple for you over there. Good Luck in all you aim to achieve. Peace and Love.

  • Neil's solo at the end was an epic jam...

  • @mcdstuff ya that was the sad thing about the 60's, a lot of smart people fried themselves on drugs. It opened up our society to permanent drug problems we have today.

  • @schlabresfan I am not sure why you responded with such a hostile comment???? I am perplexed by your response.

  • Has "Celebration at Big Sur" ever been availble in any video format? Until miraculously discovering it here on Youbube, I hadn't seen it since a midnight screening in 1973....

  • What talent in the guitars of Stephen Stills and Neil Young. Both battling riffs that harmonize, and buzz of power. From their roots of "Bufflao Springfield", they truly were great as the first harmonic leads. Gretsch guitars coupled with Fender power. True brilliance in improvization.

  • @mcdstuff certainly more so than what we have seen with the monster nanny state and government being created by the progressives. All the EPA rules that hamper energy production, anti business regulations, NAFTA, internet regulations, growth of the IRS, outrageous tax systems(check out how the death tax can rob your estate), heck even Tipper Gores attack on the music industry etc....all leftist. These very same people who were free love, anarchy etc.. now want to control our lives

  • OMG HUGE MUTTONCHOP SIDEBURNZ

  • Always sad to see how morons cut these things in some effort to be artistic and forget to ever show the artists actually PLAYING the extended guitar solos. So many rock movies from the 60s and 70s do this over and over. Aerial shots, dancers, show Stills when Young is playing a solo, show Young when Stills is playing solo, show Crosby when Stills and Young are both playing solos. Sigh.

  • a golden age for america but now everything is better were more free now then we were back then all we need to do is turn in our guns and give up our rights.

  • @pretorious700 joke. just joking.

  • @bakedinspiration You have it backward... we were much more free to what we wanted back then. We currently have many more laws, regulations, restrictions, and a reduction in personal rights & freedoms than ever before.

  • @slimshine953 I know right

  • @slimshine953 agreed, whats even more ironic is some of these young hippie generation would go on to become our leaders and enact more laws, regulations, reduction in personal liberty, ever growing gov't etc... in the modern progressive mov't. Now it's the "conservatives" who have become the counter culture in a way and get back our freedoms, reduce regulations, etc. Interesting how history goes.

  • As much as I adore Crosby and Stills And Nash, and i do, Anyone can tell that Neil was a talent above and beyond any aspirations at this time. The man is awesome.

  • who's the black guy?

  • @MalargueZiggy greg reeves

  • Nash is on the keys

  • great song, but i hate goddam hippies! God, i hate hippies

  • @graemewjones0409

    I doubt hippies hate you

  • @graemewjones0409 what you telling God for he's a hippy too

  • Where is Nash???

  • Who is playing the bass?

  • @headstock48

    Calvin "Fuzzy" Samuels

  • @AnotherHoustonKid Thanks. Who else did he play with? I'll look him up.

  • @headstock48 It's Greg Reeves, not Fuzzy

  • @AnotherHoustonKid Nah dude, Greg Reeves was CSNY's touring and recording bassplayer in 1969.

  • @Proglove85

Yes this video was 69, Reeves was replaced in 70' by Samuels.

  • Is that George Harrison at 0:17?

Is 0:54 the point of no return?

  • @Breatherable.....lighten up....I was kidding......believe me, I'd stand there in a sportsjacket banging a tambourine on my legif it meant I could have been there too (but I was only 8 years old)

  • Could somebody help me? I can't see anything!!!

  • Who's the doink in the sports jacket and tie banging the tamborine against his leg? "....look at me cats and kittens....I'm cool....I bring a tambourine with me (and wear a blazer and tie)....."

  • @johnkeithhan Hey John, ease up. He was there, not you....
