I'm a huge Bob Fosse fan and this is one of my favorite dances of his...BUT if you want to see how it's supposed to look and sound, watch Liza with a Z. This clip from FOSSE the Broadway show is poorly edited, over-sung, and thoughtlessly staged. No care whatsoever has been paid to the nuance of movement and subtle humour which really made his work stand out.

Joey  RIGHT ON MAN!! And it's not JUST this number in the awful FOSSE video!! The first company (saw it 2nd night on B'Way) was exceptional--though a few numbers were not good--"MY" BOJANGLES for instance. I danced with the original company of Dancin' and that was true Fosse--as was Liza with a Z!! Dancin is coming back to B'Way--let's pray they get it right! Thanks for this comment. As I was watching the clip, I felt I wasn't getting a sense of the number, and I think one reason was because of the rapid cutting of the camerawork. Compare this camerawork with that of the "Big Deal" from 1985 (also on youtube).
