I see no harm in using the internet to help learn technique. I actually picked up a lot of fine points from watching Saulo's & Marcelo's matches on youtube. But he is right in that BJJ is becoming softer and softer. Lets just hope it doesn't become like tae kwon doe.
Wow - so true!!! I was laughing my ass off. I've been training for over a decade and I am a brown belt in BJJ. I've trained my ass off, suffered, and spent more time on the mat in the last decade of my life than most people spend in bed. The art has been "Americanized" and now way too many handjobs our there think they are tough in their TapOut clothes because they watched a few videos. I run my own school under a Brazilian 3rd Degree BB and we are definitely OLD SCHOOL BJJ! Love your vid.
Teachers should just accept the fact that people will try to get help from the internet. I've trained at 3 schools and while they usually make the white belt curriculum known, they don't emphasize *why* it's set up that way. People new to bjj are usually excited about learning everything they can, but would probably hold back if they knew how all of this new school stuff is harming them in the short term.

Whilst amusing - It concerns me that John Will has used a movie based on Hitler - who caused the the Holocaust of the Jewish peoples of Europe and was responsible for untold millions of war deaths - as a means of trying to be funny. He needs to be more perceptive as to the message DELIVERED - not intended. Take the advice from your own blog John.
