@oOMoonlightMelodyOo more often then not when a gaijin(foreigner), speaks japanese to them usually they are little bit happy but most of the time they will reply to you in english. A lot of my friends who studied/worked in japan said the single most annoying thing to them was that their boss/teachers insisted on speaking english only with them though they can speak japanese fluently. Some have said its because of wanting to seem knowledgable in english whish is kind of status symbol there.
