i own one of these and i got to say tht is is an alirte computer for gaming. but beware if a game does not support crossfire the single ati 3870 is good but not great. best if the only game u play utilize crossfire. also can't upgrade laptop gpus since they're soddered onto the mobo. overall 3.5/5

no. M17 uses Core2 CPUs, M15x uses Core i7.

M17 has ATI 3870. M15x has Nvidia 240m

the biggest advantage i see with the M17 is the Crossfire, the M15x doesnt have SLI or crossfire, but you can upgrade to a Nvidia GTX 260M.

in my opinion the biggest advantage the M15x has is the Core i7, but also remember the M15x is smaller size, has a 15" screen, the M17 has a 17" i believe.

its kinda a win-win.

The only real competition the M17 has really is with Sager. Sager sells some amazing laptops as well, including the worlds first core processing gaming laptop. For anyone really wanted a good looking rig for minimal cost, either make them yourself or check out ibuypower (company name). Interesting note: the LA Film School's Game Development program gives these M17's out to its students as part of the course. The laptops are used for every part of the program, including general ed.

Considering the OCZ barebones it's made of costs $1500 with just the graphics cards and nothing else, and for $400 more Alienware throw in a 1200p screen, 3GB DDR3, a Wireless N card, decent processor, a hard drive, an illuminated keyboard, a disk drive, and the design.
