@DirtyHertzUK If your point is that you can't black a tape unless you have external reference sync, that is not correct. This video explains how to make a basic, which we get asked almost every day and in that respect this video does its job 100%. Sync is neither the topic nor relevant to the task here. I assume you were just looking to find what's wrong with our free video. Thank you.
@DirtyHertzUK It is not wrong to stripe a tape without an external reference signal. It would be if your reference setting was set to external and there is none present. To stripe a tape, the deck can be set for internal reference or in our case, there was another deck on the input and the reference was set for input. Talking about SD, HD, progressive or interlaced has nothing to do with the reference.
@DirtyHertzUK Obviously, you would set the deck to the frame rate you need before you stripe. This has no relation to the reference, if using internal reference or video input. The input signal just has to match. This is not an in depth engineering course. This is a helpful video for a clueless assistant who is up at midnight trying to hook up a deck he has never seen before in his life. It's a visual manual for deck rentals. As such, there is nothing incorrect here.
LOL! Your reference light is flashing!
