I use to watch this as a kid as well, and I remember a character always saying "holy smokes" was that on this show or another? Also I remember my sister telling me that one character was modeled after Jeff Chandler.

@hanselkksc I know what you mean. My mum used to take the mickey out of me because I liked the song so much. It still makes me blush when I hear it now, and this full length version is brilliant. My son isn't so keen on it though.

An amazing show, as was Supercar and Fireball-XL5. I was addicted to them all and almost thought the characters were real it was so well done. How did they get Marina to swim so realistically among the fishes? My favorites were the undersea creatures who talked like they were eating bubbles.

OMG! WHat was it about this song and show that had us all searching for 40 years?!?! I had this show mixed up with Fireball XL5. I thought Steve was in love with Marina. Not until today did I find Stingray on google. I have loved this song since day 1. I'm 50 and know something good when I hear it! Thanks for putting this on here. Oh I read that Troy was modeled after James Garner and Marina after Bridget Badott. Wikipedia will tell you the entire story! Thanks again!

I've got a couple of years on you but it sure brings back memories of all those old shows (Fireball XL5, Stingray, Thunderbirds, Joe 90, etc.) My sisters and I used to watch them all and then act them out when they weren't on. I also dated a girl name Maria and had this song played one night as, what I thought, might be a romantic start. Unfortunately, her spanish got the better of her, she took it the wrong way and

I am an Aussie and searched for this song as Aqua Marina and not Stingray theme song.I'd forgotten the name of the show but never the song.I was in love with Marina.I must admit she seemed more realistic in the early 60's.Thanks for the song and memories.Its great.Gary Miller was good.Mario Lanza would have sung this beautifully.
