  • woodstock lp

the only i wouldnt throw away

  • the 60's needed to happen

  • Stop censoring the "like" button!

  • @recoverfromhydro I have reasons for what I do. Just curious, why do as ask?

    Joe

  • The late 60's saw a balance, in idealism, emerge. Essential, at the time. And necessary. The message was....love. Thanks, Crosby, Stills, Nash and neil Young.

  • coolest generation !!!

  • still amazing!!!!

  • Crosby, Stills and Nash rock !

I love it and I remember the original Woodstock too.

  • Neil Young was definitely at Woodstock..I saw him there.

  • whoever doesnt like this song is GAY.

  • @AntaresInScorpius Gay means happy, man. Homo is correct. :-)

  • The Hippies betrayed the "Greatest Generation."

  • @ReevesPete I don't understand. How did they betray the Greatest Generation: the young men who 100 years earlier reunited a fractured nation and ended the horrific institution of slavery in this country?

  • this is music, children need to smoke pot chill out and this world will b a better place

  • In this period in America, young people and some sympathetic older people were in open rebellion against authority. The 1950s were oppressive and young people had had enough. There was the draft, the Korean and Vietnam war, censorship in movies and music and people had to look and act a certain way to be accepted and get a job. And so you had young people rebelling, playing wild music, growing their hair, wearing what they wanted and doing what ever they wanted. These times will return...

  • No es la versión musical que originalmente se aprecia en la película Woodstock.

  • Enjoyed the photos. Thank you.

  • Why can't music be this good nowadays

  • when a think about the post oil society....just remember the values and the principles of the real hippies.....maybe the 69´ are a prophecy about the future days.

  • I still have my LP of Woodstock and there's no better music.

  • βιβλος !

  • According to Neil Young's biography he was definitely at Woodstock, but he talks about being there with Buffalo Springfield, which Stephen Stills was also in. I guess they all just were jammin' together!

  • Great music, great time. Never to be duplicated, IMO. We need another revolution this time by the now baby boomers, let's get it back!

  • ps. Bob Dylan was at home near Woodstock, during Woodstock.

  • This song is just perfection. its the answer to everything!

  • we will never hear music like this again ......... I too feel blessed to be one who lived it !! Peace !

  • @nitramtuorp Yes, I totally agree. It was the Golden Age of Music. I was in the 11th grade on the verge of becoming a high school senior. What a great time it was!!!

  • @DelanoProfundo I was there on the muddy hill sliding down naked

  • By the way, love the pics!

  • @awesomeeras131 I remember, I was there through this whole generation, I feel blessed. But never forget Kent State..

  • Such a cool song.. They're the best in this particular album.. it's the one that looks like a cartoon on the front.. has Ohio on it as well..really great music. If I were old enough ot have been at Woodstock I bet that would have been cool...

  • I wish I was here.

  • Unless my eyes and ears where decieving me, Neil Young was at Woodstock with the rest of us. This song is beautiful, and true to form of all of that were there, and a way of life we need back in America, and around the world as a matter of fact.

  • the lyrics to this song are applicable today

  • great song and lyrics

  • THE ULTIMATE HIPPY SONG FOR ME

  • They all did Joe. Thanks for the trip back in time. Ricky!

  • OMG! I didn't know this song, and I really love it!

  • CSN, one of the true, and I mean the REALLY TRUE sounds of the '60's. This is the style of music that was heard more than all the heavy stuff that everyone today thinks represents the '60's. Not so, I remember it so well.

  • @awesomeeras131

Peace and happiness to you. :)

  • The folks that claim that Neil Young was NOT at Woodstock are WRONG. He was there, out of the spotlight, in the background.. He just didnt want to be filmed..

  • Rob Griffin is loving this tune!!!!!

  • @awesomeeras131 ...It was innocence.... and I lost it 40 yrs ago

  • If you smile at me its the same language everywhere I can see by your coat .........you from the other side....WHO WON? great lyrics even more today

  • Neil Young is NOT on this track !

  • @jaqand neil refused to play at wood stock because he didn't want to be filmed. perhaps he was a little camera shy at the time

  • Far from being about hippy peace and love, this song is about giving up on ideals and retreating into the inner world of drugs and hedonism. Although it's a great song, Jackson Browne was driven to strongly rebuke this abandonment of idealism in his song "For Everyman".

  • I encourage civil disobedience.....especially in these times

  • Great Upload!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks.

  • I don't consider myself overly sentimental for the past - then why did this dang video and tune put me in a trance??

  • My first favorite CSN song

  • The decade that promised so much to so many, delivered so little to so few, but..................the music remains forever

  • best song ever. i'm only 33 and i know this.

  • Aw Christ! In so many many ways, this is much better that anything I hear on the radio today!

  • The best of times & Music.I will die a happy Man!

  • I'll never forget those 3 day's!

  • Back to a simpler time, wish I could go back............

  • have always loved this song- fabulous- xxx

  • i would like this video...

  • great video for a great song

  • @TheBacmaster it's Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young or at least it says that on the Woodstock DVD

  • @brady1574 Wooden Ships by Crosby, Stills & Nash

Album: Crosby, Stills & Nash Released: 1969. This song was written by Crosby, Stills & Nash. Young was not at Woodstock in 1969. I've seen mistakes on Wiki, CD's and yes, even I make mistakes.

  • @TheBacmaster OH YES NEIL YOUNG WAS THERE AT WOODSTOCK IN 1969.

He refused to allow himself to be on video tape feeling in was some sort of commercialism of his music. Better look up Stills and Young Mr. Soul Woodstock 1969 because it is here on You Tube. And Neil is singing and playing, shown briefly at the very beginning and very clear at the 3:00 minute mark.

Hell you're talking to an old Hippie Here.

  • @TheBacmaster The song was also written by Paul Kantner of Jefferson Airplane, but not by Nash. It was written when they all were playing in Jefferson airplane and, again, Nash was not there. But Jerry Garcia played with them.

  • @TheBacmaster neil was there no fear

  • @TheBacmaster Sorry but you are incorrect. Neil Young was absolutely at Woodstock. There is video of him there. I have seen it. He may not have sung on all the songs they did that night. He joined them mid-set. I'm not sure if he is on this song, but I think he is. There is also audio of him speaking there.

  • @Topkat311 Thank you for the correction, however I only get my information from Wiki. Like I mentioned above to brady1574, Wiki makes many mistakes. That particular message was copied from another site and are not my words. Anyhow, thanks for making it public for other viewers to read. I was only 11, so I never attended Woodstock nor have I seen any video you spoke of.

  • @TheBacmaster I looked further into it. Seems Neil wasn't on the acoustic set, but played the electric set with them. "Sea of Madness" is his song they did. He didn't want to be photographed & told photogs, he would hit them with his guitar if they took pics of him.

  • @Topkat311 I didnt see him when i was there but then again it was quite hazy

  • @Topkat311 I read somewhere that Neil, Jimi Hendrix, and a few other people with them got behind schedule somehow and were late getting to the concert, so Hendrix ended up borrowing someone's truck at the airport and drove there with Neil.

  • @TheBacmaster He was there at woodstock because he was announcer said Cosby, Stills, Nash And Young

  • This song invites the spirit of solemn HOPE for A REALISTIC WORLD PEACE by way of collectively working together for the common good...love thy neighbor as you would love yourself because the best is yet to come.... there are far more better days ahead for the world at large.....Allow for mutual respect for one another to rule the day.

  • awesome video. thanx for the share..............Peace

  • these voices,the images,breathtaking...i wanted to cry,yes,felt my eyes heavy,beautiful,we need to cry and unleash that,BRING IT,BRING IT,PEOPLE

  • Many thanks for this.

  • Can't believe that nice people at Woodstock, many of them have grown and then voted Reagan and Bushes...

  • magnifique photos dans la vidéos, 3 J's gone too soon ( Jimmy Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison) ...

  • Great Song as always...and your' upload---->video is excellent and AUDIO reaches out there-n-takes you away !

  • Jet Life..

  • Vocals man... this is how it's done.

  • Nice piece of work here. Thank you for putting it up!!

  • @awesomeeras131 The magic in the air was smoke being exhaled from our "free" lungs. We communicated back then. we talked, we walked, we cared.

  • @awesomeeras131 Well said friend, absolute magic from the heart and soul!

  • How come the actual Woodstock version is not available on Youtube because of WMG, but the album version is? The live Woodstock version by CSNY is the best version of the song.

  • I was 9 when this song came out.. I have older bros.. so I listened to their music... love this song so full of peace... it is what we need today!!! to much anger in the world.. everybody around the world needs to listen to this song at least 5 times a day until they get it!!!!!

  • @1mistymountaintop Unfortunately they never will. It has lyrics and it's not noise!

  • @1mistymountaintop the ship is sinking like the titanic.

  • good ole days. thanks...

  • I was born in 74 , and typically this is not my genre of music , But I always come back to it because it reminds me of my mom when i was young if that makes any sense , she was a hippy !

  • 1969. I was 21. At UT, Austin. Spent the 70's in SF/Marin County. Spent the 80's in the Virgin Islands. Back on the island of Kauai now for 9 years. Ran into Graham Nash awhile back at the vets. We talked dogs. Good guy. Fights for the environment, among other things. One of my favorite TV programs back in the early 60's was "Adventures in Paradise." Once, when Iwas in th USVI, I was on a 1907 Danish Schooner in the BVI wooden boat race. Aloha and Peace from Kauai.

  • @awesomeeras131 - I love this song too! I was young when this song came out but I do remember the times as bittersweet. I think we all want to believe that our youth signified something that no one else can and rightfully so, the 60's was a unique time in the country. Did people really love each other more then. It feels like we did. I always felt so hopeful about the future.

  • @roac7777 Steve Stills, David Crosby and, I think Paul Kantner

  • This song apitamises hippies for me

  • It's a bit distorted.. the gain is too high.

  • @Gruxxan Yes, sorry about that. It's all I had at the time to use.

  • @awesomeeras131 I like to think that the magic never dies. Even to remember it means it lives on. Peace.
