  • ACC's #26 song of '81. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Have a blessed week! Born Willie Hugh Nelson.

  • he bought this song from a man i know for 50 bucks

  • @lindav999 Really? That's interesting because Willie has been quoted as saying that he wrote it himself for one of his former wives.

  • @bustabus00 well roy snow from colorado wrote it and sold it to willie for 50 bucks

  • @bustabus00 You are right, here's the interview where he says it's for Connie, his 3rd wife. Listen at 3:55....

  • i hope they play this at my funeral...

  • My personal favorite

  • retarded is not a nice word

  • Thanks, I guess. Very sad.

  • Does anyone know whether the band is Willie's band or actors? Specifically, I wonder if the bass player is the band member who recently died of exposure to cold after a fall or simply an actor in the movie.

  • @Mr242723 Yes it is the same guy... Bee Spears.

  • I love this 'ole country!!!

  • @arrowheadfreak indeed. <3 all my love, willie.

  • Miss you so much Lisa

  • I miss you daddy your my favorite angel.

  • my daddy is my favorite angel too!!!!

  • See you on the flipside Bee Spears! RIP!

  • Just wondering if you all know the true origin of this song.....It seems, a Hells Angels rider speeding along a highway , crashed .....and willie took him under his wing until he mended and fixed his bike , and was on his way again.

  • @tdyn325 I know this song was dedicated to a Hells Angel

  • this song is beautiful but its almost har to listen to cuz you almost cant help but think of a loved one or ones.

  • UF-Believable! What a voice!

  • Eastman, that story is a show stopper... Regards

  • My younger brother's wife a -mother of a 4yr and 2 yr old daughters was killed outright by a foolish young drunk driver driving the wrong way on a divided hiway at 100mph on a bet. She lost her life and he lost his bet (THANK GOD). This Willie Nelson song was played several times during her funeral and it is how I remember one of God's angels who was a Nurse on a childrens floor at a local hospital. Each time I hear it Kathy visits my heart and says SHE IS OK GOD LOVES HER.....THANKS WILLIE

  • sadly the most important song of my life...

  • you kept me company when I needed company... Thank you Willie Nelson.

  • @ragingteddybear1 ............Shut up!!!!!!!!!!

  • Willie is a free spirit. Living life on life's terms! A lot of the stress today is what kills us. Yes his activity of choice keeps him young, because a person has to have something to smooth off the edges of life. Only Willie does not abuse himself, yet he still enjoys the release of a stimulant. I think folks should learn from Willie instead of trying to make his life more like theirs! It is the drama in life that kills people, loosen up , have some fun! Read it and enjoy Angel Boy (Exlibris)

  • Lord, I love this song to no end! My ex in Texas used to jam with Willie in the old days and played at Willie's first picnic. My ex does an awesome job at playing and singing this song and the others too, but he used to sing this for me cause he knew how much I love it. Thank you ex for some of the good memories, and thank God for Willie!!

  • @Rainfallinsoftly - amen

  • Beautiful! Some say its about his son Billy who committed suicide. Some say its this or that but the truth is, its about his wife Connie. From his autobiography in 1987 he says that. Connie and him were having some personal problems at the time.

  • RIP Walter Ellison , 1927-2011

  • Saw him in Bismarck, ND last night! AMAZING!!!

  • I reckon this is the best version of this great great song Go Willie nearly 80????

  • He's almost 80 now, no cancer or heart disease, yet people still think marijuna is harmful. My grandma is 96 and I still smoke spliffs with her and she has the brain of a 25 year old, can still do complicated math in her head and recall everything she ever learned. We like to call her immortal because you start to get a sense of what an immortal person must be like if one existed. She grew up in NYC and remembers Babe Ruth greeting people at Yankee stadium. Said he looked like a gorilla.

  • @JamesTKirkCobain Absolutely beautiful my friend...You are so very blessed '-))

  • @JamesTKirkCobain Thats a brilliant story dude

  • @JamesTKirkCobain. I know what you mean. My great grandmother Geneva died at 104, 1881-1985. For years she drank a shot of Irish whisky every morning. She used to share stories with us her mother told her about after the battle of Gettysburg of Confederate troops passing through her home town here in Fairfield Pa. She said her mother told her the Confederate Army was very polite, the Union was not. She outlived all her sons but 1. She could remember the Wright brothers, WW1, Titanic, etc.

  • @myNifty350 beautiful story, mynifty. It is a myth that the Union was completely good and the confederacy completely bad. Thanks for providing proof. :)

  • @JamesTKirkCobain We need still need people like your grandma ! Smoke weed and drink booze ! "Whiskey river dont 'run dry. don't let the memory torture me." Willie Nelson

  • This song will forever remind me of my ex-girlfriend. She was mentally unstable when I met her but I stayed with her anyways, always kinda knowing it couldn't last. She broke it off in the end and she's with another guy now. I miss her sometimes but this song helps me cope.

And he didn't know who i was talking about. I told him to ask his Aunt Lucy (91 years old) and he said awww she wouldn't know who he is. And I said "Aunt Lucy have you heard of Bob Wills ?" And she said "Well Yes ! I've still got all his records, did you want to hear one?" No real point i'm making except My friend always knew everything.

  • Willie is indeed a genious! To anyone who thinks this band is lame, You have NO BRAIN! Willie would not perform as well as he does if his band wasn't competent. These gents fully understand Willies unique style and support it well. This happens to be a timeless, very famous performance by the way. Th
