Actually, my school gives the students laptops... and we had PCs for the first 3 years I was in the district, but then got macs. I use PCs ar home, but I use mac for all of my schoolwork. I know both very well. Mac is great for schoolwork and simple things like that, but in the end, PC will always win. It has so many options, and that's why PCs are great. You can get exactly what you need

I agree, vista did suck, but Mac makes a ton of lies about their stuff. Windows XP and 7 are very good systems, and Mac gets a "Grey Screen of Death"

In fact, I had a windows XP computer and a new Leopard Mac for 2 years and I had 0 crashes on PC and about 30 on Mac.

The only reason there's no viruses on Mac is because it isn't popular, the people that make those viruses want to hit large amounts of people.

Besides, I don't need a bunch of fancy tools to type a document. I generally just type like this. I don't see how Apple's software is anywhere near superior. Windows 7 works better than Windows XP (which was great). My only complaint is that damn security system pestering me about everything. It's not that bad though.

I only wish I could still run Star Trek Armada which, oddly enough, was released in 2000. It wouldn't run on XP either. Well, it would run, but it ran extremely slow.

@GFedFan , It's possible but is not recommended. In Vista, you can turn it off because it always ask for your permission. In Windows 7, the UAC pop-out fewer. Even you have Norton, there would still be threats out there that can come inside your computer. Windows 7's UAC is there to stop such threats. If you use Linux, it would be even more annoying than Vista. I tried Linux and I dumped it. It would require you to enter a password on everything you do.

i love how most people who see this commercial can't actually go out and buy starter because it's only available in emerging markets and non-1st world countries. that leaves only 5 different versions to choose from, two of which are targeted at company's and those company's employees (enterprise and business respectively). so really there's three different versions for you to choose from, home basic, home premium, and ultimate. (bare min, normal, and maxed respectivly). mac has one. vista wins.

The fact is that Steve Jobs started a OS call NeXTSTEP OS that used code from BSD. at the time Apple was a failing company , and at the same time Apple had a project called mkLinux.
