A network of criminals had somehow acquired that technology and are using it to stalk me. I suspected government corruption to be involved when I first realized they could read my thoughts. I have considered contacting the FBI, but figured it might do more harm than good.

To CBS, This is quite a nice composed video and i would like to add a comment on this subject. The fact is that i have been able to listen and interpret peoples mind thoughts for the last 15 years with nothing but my brain.
Moreover that kind of machine could be used for good things, for example, we could communicate more easily with people with serious handicaps - paralysed - or try and understand what people experience when they die for a couple of minutes and come back to our world - do they all see the same images? - or when they are in the coma - what do they feel, do they suffer, ...?

@pippismo Welcome to my world, you at lease have the luxury of worrying that it will happen to you. As for myself (and possibly a few others), it is currently happening. The people doing the monitoring however, appear to be a network of criminals, but I know they had to have acquired the technology from either the government or a corporation.

This requires full cooperation. They have to map each person's brain and then compare the patterns. The part with the lying detector may end up being very usable or maybe it will fail because of the enormous diversity in our brains.
So...I wouldn't be scared about this just yet.

@skydark I would because the technology has greatly advanced since the posting of the video (which was two years ago). One such advance is that they have it in wireless format. I know because I am currently being stalked with this technology. It seems that our government or a corporation had placed it into the hands of street criminals, whom have the nerve to break into people's homes, steal/vandalize their items, and even attack them in their sleep.

Hmm, the computer was basically asked a 50/50 question, whether than a comparison of all 10 possibilities. That can make the analysis easy if the computer has only to compare the image differences between a hammer vs a house.

Moreover that kind of machine could be used for good things, for example, we could communicate more easily with people with serious handicaps - paralysed - or try and understand what people experience when they die for a couple of minutes and come back to our world - do they all see the same images? - or when they are in the coma - what do they feel, do they suffer, ...?
I think that what matters most to human being is the liberty of thoughts and not the capacity of hiding one's own thoughts.

so now they just have to catalog every single object in the world. It just assigns synapse to words. Just like you see "O" and you say "circle".
Just like you are shown something you've never seen before and don't know what it is, the computer needs to map synapses for everything in order to recall them. In order to map synapse, someone has to be laying in that machine.
I wouldn't be worried about big brother just yet. to have a comprehensive catalog of just objects, it will be a while.
