  • Nice video..I am new to any scones so this was fun to watch. Thanks for not being so fussy as many other video is.

  • Can I use oven to bake them? What is the temperture setting if yes? Thanks.

  • This recipe is not as good baked. There are several good scone recipes done in the oven on the internet.

  • can i not add baking powder i dont have any things that have baking in it like baking soda and ect

  • Baking powder is different. You could try it but it will not rise as much.

  • just put the butter in the mike for 15 secs

  • Actually, that would make it less flaky

  • that is very interesting ..i have to try to fry an scone for myself in order to know the yummy taste ~~

  • Cant u just soften the butter in the microwave & then mix it in the flour?

  • No! The butter must be cold and cut in or it will ruin the consistency.

  • Scones prepared like pancakes, interesting. But why not use the mixer in the right-hand corner - less mess.

  • Scones, like biscuits turn out better without a mixer in my opinion. The butter doesn't get fully mixed in so they turn out flakier.

  • Right on scone ! Great video Thks

  • Thanks for commenting!

  • Wow, I've made scones, watched them being made, and eaten them for years but I have never before seen anyone fry them! Is the texture the same?? And have you ever tried baking them with this particular recipe? In other words, if I didn't want to try pan-frying, is this still a good recipe for baking? Thnx!

  • No, the texture isn't the same which is why I like them fried. They come out a bit heavier and I thing they have more flavour due to the browning. You could bake this recipe but it is designed for cooking in a fry pan and would recommend you use one designed for an oven if you wish to bake them.

    Thanks for watchind and commenting!

  • Enjoyed your video - keep them coming.

  • Thanks for the encouragement! We're making another tonight.

  • keep up the great videos. I love the food you guys make :D

  • Thanks for the encouragement. Sadly, as you can tell from the videos, I love the food I cook to, a bit too much!

  • I really prefer them fried. If you do try them, I'd like to hear your opinion.

  • i'm gonna try to make them 2moro =) i'm having a great time cooking, today i made butternut squash soup for the first time and it was great =D

i'll have to make a video of my scones if they go right =D

  • How about a video of the butternut squash soup? Sounds wonderful!

Good luck with the Scones and best wishes from Canada!

  • they look so yummy, could i put cheese in them? would i need to put more liquid in tho? and i dont have one of those things you cooked them in =( could i do them in the oven? i've never made them before

  • You could add up to 3/4 cup of shredded cheese and you shouldn't have to add any additional liquid as the cheese will just melt. I think they turn out better fried so if you don't have an electric fry pan, just cook them on a covered fry pan over medium heat. I hope you try them and like them!

  • I agree, they turn out so much better pan-fried than baked in an oven.

The addition of cheese sounds interesting.

  • i made these last night, they were awsome....i nenever saw them prepared this way. ill never bake them again

  • Thanks for telling me how they turned out. I really preferred them in a fry pan too.

  • Great! I'd love to hear how they turn out!

  • rockin'! :D imma have to try these, i never tried them before... are they kind've like biscuits? o_o

  • They are a bit sweeter than biscuits and are a little coarser. However, I prefer that!

  • wow sounds delicious! imma make them tomorow and get back to you... need to go shopping!!!

  • I can't wait to try this. I'm going to go and make these right now. Thanks Dave.

  • Glad you liked them!

  • Looks Yum-O!!!!! Great job gentleman!

It's starting to get cold.....I'm thinking a nice hearty chili recipe would be fantastic!

  • Funny you should mention it. I have been thinking about doing my Ranch Chili recipe.

  • We sure do, both filming and editing. Bill is way better with the technical stuff and keeps me in line.

  • A new way for cooking scones...this should keep the kids quiet for a while, lol!

You look like you have fun making these vids:)
