the only was his record will break will probablly be due to technology advances in the pole. Thats the only thing i can think of. Bubka's record will stand for some time at 6.15
i think he can do it... bubka had some drawbacks that walker doesnt... namely a height advantage... if someone can match bubkas raw power and not be held back with the height issue i think it could be done... we've seen the perfect swimmer in phelps now maybe we will see the perfect vaulter in walker... i hope so neway... bubka has had the record for long enough
walker's technique doesn't compare to bubka's. mainly the taking off, under. because bubka took off, freely, he could leap upwards at take-off. so bubka was actually taller at take-off than walker. walker's a power guy that muscles over bars
@joebro391 also, you have to remember bubka was a world class sprinter, and with his speed and unbelievable strength he could use big ass poles. but i have to agree, bubka has the best technique ever.
Clearly it didn't hurt him too bad...the man just jumped 6.04m. Is it too difficult to just watch a video and appreciate this jump rather than critiquing a man for doing something none of us can even come close to doing?? Great jump, good luck in Beijing.
B-E-A-U-tiful Vault. I'm ready to see him break the World Reacord!

it would be amazing, but i don't think anyone will ever be able to touch the incomparable bubka...
We can always dream though :P

This comment has received too many negative votes show
That thing he does with holding his arm there hurts him a lot, he doesn't make to good a use of his top end.

tbh i'd rather jump the USA record with a squiffy hand than fail at it with perfect technique :P
