  • hahah in sweden our commuter trains drives in that speed! Lol XD

  • I recently travelled on the tilt from Cairns to Towsnville. Goes faster than it seems inside. Very smooth journey. Have posted my take on the trip.

Liked the driver cam. One way of keeping an eye on the track ahead. Almost as much fun as seeing paint dry:-)

  • A driver cam is so cool

  • Australia NEEDS a high speed train up the east coast and to perth, but the government is to stupid to realise!!!

  • thoe the eletric got up to 220 km if irc

  • by the way the XPT is a Diesel so its pretty fast for a Diesel that came out befor the Tilt Train did

  • here u have this train that go's 160km/h u should see the XPT it go's 180km/h to 200km/h so thats not fast as the Xpt can go

  • @GayBoyRunning The XPT goes 190km/h, the Tilt (at max speed) goes at 210km/h. The Tilt is a true high speed train, the XPT is not.

  • @clubpenguin777 :: i havent seen or heard a QR Tilt trian ever get up to 210km/h lol

  • @GayBoyRunning

In tests, not in service. Same with the XPT.

  • @clubpenguin777 well i was on a XPT doing 180km/hour

  • @clubpenguin777 :: dont beleive me look for your self

XPT at Tarro (Down) by the way on youtube also look for the 26 sec one

  • @clubpenguin777 The max of the tilt train is 160km, if u look at the video response, i get some filming done in the cab, I NEVER saw any speed limmit above 160km/h and i ask the driver. The tilt train holds the land speed record for trains at 219km/h and the XPT no longer holds it at 198km/h . All my information comes from the oldest driver of the Tilt train today the XPT also maxes out at 160km/h (health and safety) It also depends on the rail and other features!

  • but both times its de-railed wasnt because of the train itself, one was because of an incompetent driver and the second time was because of a semi truck

  • Yeah and the second derailment was the diesel tilt not the electric tilt

  • yes but in QLD its only allowed to go 160kmhr, so i said it like that lol im sure it would go heaps faster !!!

  • exactly... its de-railed twice in the last 5 years hasnt it ?? i'm a QLD'der and have travelled on the tilt before.. but i cant remember when it de-railed

  • 2005 i think

  • thats what happens when you put high speed on narrow gauge... in victoria we have the VLocities that arent tilting trains - they do 160 easy without the tilt function.

  • Actually, the tilts can max out at nearly 260km/h.
