why is it that just because women are lesbians they can't sing about men and being in love with them and it not be true? I don't get that logic and I never will.
Thanks for posting this! Being in the USA at the time, they hardly had any exposure or TV performance opportunities in the USA back then for the fantastic Fruit At The Bottom album.
Great performance! They all seemed like they were having a great time! The lady drummer, I forget her name sorry, but she's just a great drummer! Her work on the FATB and Eroica albums is stellar.
@timjamesmackenzie Live in terms of vocals. I don't know if you've ever seen/heard W+L live but the many performances I've seen, are tremendous. Even intimate setting you name, it these ladies play live and sing in tune, play their instruments.
I'm sure that at this show it must of had to do with logistics of the show in someway. Either way, its a great performance and a great insight into their live shows of the time.
@wendileona ...i know...but its feels good just too imagine. hell...i'm still waiting on that 1985 vhs quebec concert to come out on DVD. do you remember that one?
@GeorgeJansen 1985 vhs quebec? Do you mean 'Prince & The Revolution LiVE'?
That was in Syracuse New York, that concert was recorded in. Yeah, I'm slightly surprised that hasn't been released, or hadn't been released when WB released anniversary edition of Purple Rain DVD at least.
My theory is that since Prince is a full on Jehovah Witness, that there are things in there he feels ashamed of NOW in terms of been salacious and so on.
Remember, TODAY, Prince fans are fans of a JW Prince.
@wendileona ....right! march 30, 1985. i have it on my wish amazon wish list. current price is 18.87. holding out for the dvd. then again i could get a dvr and record it off the vhs. maybe coded though?!
I saw this Broadcasting in Stockholm 1989! I was in my kitchen and heard something - and rushed into my livingroom!
!"Wow!! What is THIS!!??"I exclaimed out to myself! Icouldn´t belive what I saw or heard! Such juicy, funky creative music and all by women - performed with this joy and brilliance! It was really something! I´ll never forget it. I am so glad to see it here! They are a really extraordinary!
Of course, that assumes the "I" in the song is Wendy. It ain't necessarily so...it's possible to sing a song about a character or from another point of view...
@wendileona well, I suppose I don't know. But they clearly refer to the opposite sex in several of their songs. Not even worth discussing IMO. They are great artists.
Excellent performance of this song and excellent video quality. I'd love to have a compilation of their live shows/appearances and videos from their first three albums. I hope they do a tour for their current release "White Flags of Winter Chimneys". I've yet to see them in concert.
if people dont like the music why are they watching it...just leave us who love them alone and keep youe mouth shut...W/L---FOREVER..

@johnbambammorgan That amazing woman that steals this show is called Carla Azar.
Google and you'll get some more info on her.

How is Wendy's twin sister Susanna better looking than her? That make no sense, but it's true.

Hopefully now that they've come out, they don't have to sing about relationships with men. No need to cover up any more. They are very talented.
