  • Sounds great.

  • Some band was looking a member to play like you play, to improvise like you do, to give great ideas(like the cellphone) to be very creative.. well that band is called radiohead and believe you are the lost member..

  • I just get lost listening to this. Did you have that amount of pedals when you first started making this music? Cause I certainly don't have that much, but it still sounds pretty decent, I think. Just wondering what pedals would you consider the most important/used in your rig?

  • @soundofparticles I did a lot at the beginning with just DL-4 + DD-5 + RV-5. Still a good combo. It doesn't need to be complicated or expensive.

  • thank you! Благодарю за эту музыку

  • Were you picking up radio frequencies with your pedal @ 4:30 or did you add the voices yourself?

  • @yatah I ran my phone through my pedals.

  • @tubescreamer How'd u do that ''-''

  • My last comment was before I realized he has stuff available

Still send me stuff like this though

  • Somebody name me 5 bands in this "genre" that aren't well known. I know Mogwai, Explosions and a couple more of the popular ones, but give me something more ambient like this.

    Thank you :D

  • @TravJacobs Hammock. Jonsi and Alex. A Winged Victory for the Sullen. Skrillex.

  • Ready... go ,

    sweet,

  • Really stunning.

  • AWSOME ! please tell us in every detail how you got youe phone to work with all this.. !! :D

  • my dog is totally relaxed by he music as well....

  • perfect for meditation - thank you so much !!!

  • I love it! Sounds a lot like Eluvium =)

  • such emotion here, this drone stuff gets me boiling in a such a beautiful way. I've have bought all your albums, thank you!!!!

  • I've been going through a shit time at the moment but your music makes me smile and calm down :) Thanks a bunch, Tubescreamer

  • Fantastic. Awesome sounds.

  • BOAH! - Der Sound ist der Hammer! - Hab den Track sofort in meine Downtempo-Ambient-Liste aufgenommen!

  • I was tripping on shrooms, and the radio-vocals that come up at in the middle in the song made me trip hard. It was night and I thought the vocals were from the outside, it made me think that some awesome alien invasion was happening or something and the goverment was warning people with sirens.

Geat sounds man.. make more of those (:

  • awesom

  • how'd you connect your phone to the A/B footswitch?

  • @SmallFish616 1/8 to 1/4 jack adapter

  • this is more than genius

  • can you give us the run down on all your effects?

  • @jakascott21 check out my other videos

  • nice work....keep it up......Steve Roach ...Brian Eno....Mother Nature...eat your heart out.

  • This is brilliant mate, truelly inspirational, i know youve told us what you did but do you think you could make a video on how you got the phone voices in this its so good you need to let us all know in detail would be much appreciated thanks !!!!

  • that'd be awesome if those lights were your guitar cable

  • oh my fault i meant the full tone drive 2

  • yo im on my brothers account and u sound amazing!!! I already have the line 6 dl4 and boss dd-7, plus the full tone drive original( which i recommend if ur ever looking for a good drive pedal), boss tuner, ibanez tubescreamer( original i think),and the god2 of morpheus pedal. But i cannot wait to get a volume pedal(thats not crappy) and the boss DR-5) But all together i wanted to say u inspire me to keep on giving my talents that God gave me.

  • Dude im thinking that you could make a solid living for some time doing this at snazzy restaurants/ museums if you don't already. This type of ambience fills a BIG void in the live creation department.

  • Dude you are amazing. Wish i could play like that. Sounds like heaven.

  • dude whered u get those light its awsome i wanna get one +D

  • kooooooll

  • fantastic piece ! how did u put the voices into the loop ?

  • @omo3tetia4 I had an A/B switch with the other input plugged into my cell phone.

  • Love it really love the voice over samples , how did u do this again i have no clue on how to incorporate voice overs by i am dying to do it in my live band i have no clue on the subject tho , did u trigger it with a foot-switch ? if so what one ? amazing sounds :)

  • @FoleyKCCFilms I had an A/B switch with the other input plugged into my cell phone.

  • Your creativity and music remind me so much of Sigur Ros, Mogwai and Godspeed You! Black Emperor. You are definitely a talented musician.

  • Then when they all wake up the next morning and ask each other what that FABULOUS music was that they all heard in their sleep the night before you can stand up and say those 3 wonderful words........................BUY THE ALBUM

    (8^)

  • I just came up with a WILD idea for ya "tubescreamer".

Buy a few more amps, and a couple thousand more feet of stereo cable.

Place the amps at various locations around your neighborhood after midnight one night, and then play something like this for whole whole neighborhood to fall asleep to.

  • @r5t6y12 That's a great idea! Hmmm...

  • @r5t6y12 andy doesnt live in a neighborhood-he clearly lives in echo base

  • Dude! I'd pay to see you play. Fantastic!

  • I like it !

  • You are very good.... amazing

  • cool shit i like how there are other guitar players out there who like soundscapes or as i like to call them "soundpaintings" you did a really good job dude.

  • @Eraserhead7768 Thanks man!

  • im amazed, how? just how?

  • Dude this is the closest thing to Genius i've seen in a very long time, much respect to you my friend..

  • what pedal are you using to get that drone in the background? awesome man.

  • @bbeaup Thanks! I'm using the Line 6 DL4 for that.

  • Do you have a cd or MP3s for sale?

  • @foshizol yes! lowercasenoises.bandcamp.com

  • @tubescreamer Bought it as soon as you posted the link. Your making the kind of music I wanted to make with my guitar. But I don't seem to have the time or the talent. I wish you well and look forward to many more albums. Peace brother

  • Really nice, I could listen to this stuff all day.

  • Fantastic!!!! well done

    greetzzz,henkzz

  • Are you sure that the sound isn't coming from the cables alone?

    Where did you get them?

  • the synth-like weather voice in the background is so... amazing... great idea

  • @kuchdizzle88 i thought it was pretty neat....

  • You and passenger95 should do a collaboration piece!

  • I've never heard a phaser sound so "un-phaser-like" I love it. Actually, I love how you use it in all your videos. It sounds like an effect I could actually use.

  • @cosmogang absolutely, the whetstone is really the only modulation i can tolerate because i have so much control over it. i really love that pedal.

  • Sounds amazing! I'm inspired.

Is the Ernie Ball VP Jr. a 25k ohm or the 250k ohm model?

  • @01rrrdddrrrddd thanks! it is the vp jr.

  • so.. you start out with swells & loop right? - that's basically how you get the background for everything?

  • @robjrussell yep!

  • Very nice tones and moods. Thumbs up!

  • thank you!

  • its brilliant, man. all your videos are fantastic, i love the emotions you express! Ive been looking at the pog pedals-- do you ever find yourself wanting the second octave that you can get out of the full pog? im asking because i cant decide if i should buy the micro pog and have 1 added octave, or spend more money for the full one and get the second added octave...any suggestions?

  • so i bought the POG2 and actually sold it, because I liked the MicroPOG better. i think it sounds better and tracks better. plus i don't think i'd use all the features in the POG2. just my thoughts. :)

  • best use of tube lights. ever. i'm going to walmart tomorrow :P

sick stuff, getting a pedalboard together right now and your vids helped out quite a lot, just thought you'd like to know.

  • you da man

  • What's the Altoids can for?

  • @whenboysetsfire1 It is placed on top of the amp so that when the amp vibrates, the can vibrates making an ambient percussion sound. Many famous guitarist use this technique, such as: Jimmi Hendrix, Speed Racer, Snoop Dogg, and of course Megatron.

  • it's for picks and stuff. i have no idea what femicide09 is talking about.

  • This is still my favorite one :-) I don't know how many times I've gone back to watch this amazing video :-)

  • The weatherreport gives it some kind of a Mogwai touch:)

  • Sunn0)))

  • Sunn O))) Is awesome, but they are much creepier than this. This is like a cloudy day at the beach with no one around. Sunn O))) is like a sub-basement underneath a leaky castle in Scotland.

  • yes... i prefer to stay on the lighter side of ambient/post-rock music... :)

  • @TheMillersToll L O L , this funny cause it's true... Sunn O))) it's very deep maybe you ll never found a escape from that dark hole... but this... this is pure love.

  • This is amazing.

  • @arpraron thanks!

  • wow. the weather news really puts a nice touch to this one!

  • Man I am watching all your videos, nice work dude n_n really moves me from my stressful life XD

The glowing cable is an instrument cable?? wich one is it??

  • @kawaiimexicali thanks! thats actually not an instrument cable... just some rope lights that i set out to make it look neat :)

  • hahaha well u got me XD

  • Hey Chief (author).

This is good work, it may not be the very best, but it's enjoyable enough to listen to.

    Good work!

  • @Bendyournoodle well, hopefully someday i can be the very best.

  • That guy's just crazy [no offense haha].

    You ARE the best.

  • hi! 2 things, how did you make the voice/radio/echo sound and the wave sound at the end.

    regards from Chile

  • @gangrenaxxx the radio was actually done by putting my cell phone through my pedalboard and turning it to a weather channel radio station... the wave sound is done by turning some overdrive on (to get some white noise) and then swelling the volume pedal.

  • Wow! This was really nice. More, more, more!

  • i love thiss!! are u using phaser for this sound???

  • @guiterockermanu part of it! delay are reverb are more important though.

  • If you made a Demo of the controls and sounds of the Fender Blues DeVille alone, that would be great. There isn't really a good one on youtube.

  • you should get this stuff on itunes, id defo buy it

  • @fightstarband a couple weeks! subscribe to my channel so you can get the info!

  • i could listen to that for hours...btw, nice lights lol. i'm gonna do that on stage next time :)

  • what does being japanese have to do with anything?

  • it has everything to do with anything

  • makes sense.

  • Hey... lovely sound

How do you setup your Sound On Sound?

  • using the loop sampler on the line 6 dl4

  • Hello. I'm Japanese, and I love ambient song.

I love your song! And, your pedalboard is very cool.

I look forward to your new song very much!!

  • thanks! more will be coming...

  • Having problems posting a link here, but you should check out John Martyns song Small Hours. Reminds me of your music. Inspiration? The best version is on youtube.

  • actually never heard of it, but i'll check it out. thanks! :)

  • He is right though, I listened to that track as well and to me it sounds like he's one of the first that started the whole swelling stuff, though, the way he does it is choppy and not smooth.

We're more into the whole volume-envelope/swell stuff.

  • Lol, that's what he said to me! You're spreading the word about John Martyn, Leon. ;)

  • hi tubescreamer i've been seeing your videos for a while now! and i just subscribed to your channel..i have been playing guitar for about 2 years now..and i just bought my first fender..and now i'm going to start my pedalboard..i had a multieffect zoom...and i don't really know much about analog pedals i was wondering if you could share some info. with me or tips on wich pedals pick..thanks!

  • well, for me i would start with delay. my favorite effect. check out the line 6 dl4. from there i would get some reverb, then maybe venture into the dirt territory (tubescreamer?). message me if you want some more suggestions!

  • thanks a lot for ur time! that really helped me i was thinking of the dl4 but i was not shure if a start with distortion or with delays annd that sorto of effects thanks a lot really!

  • no prob! it really depends on what you want to do. i like delay the best, so thats my preference on where to start.

  • beauty eh!

So what made you choose the Whetstone phaser? What does this phaser do that makes it superior say over the standard MXR Phase 90.

Why phaser and not some other modulation pedal like the Choralflange that Hammock and DemoColorScheme use?

  • i am super picky about modulation, and i really dislike chorus and flange most of the time. phaser just sounds so smooth and crisp to me, without silly pitch shifting. i really dug the whetstone mainly because of the symmetric/asymmetric switch. symmetric is normal phaser, while asymmetric gives more of a uni-vibe tone. super nice.

  • how in the world did you do the voice sample stuff!!! Very cool...love it.

  • thanks! i had an a/b box in front of my pedal board with both my guitar and my blackberry phone plugged into it. i was streaming live weather radio through the blackberry.

  • do you have the looper keeping your drone?

  • yes, loop sampler on the dl4

  • It has a progression from being a spacey, dreamlike, epic tune to a sort of delirious track (thanks to the speech samples), and back to a spacey, epic track.

  • awesome

  • Incredible as always man! I picked up the VP-Jr a couple months ago and it is great for swells like this!

I know in some other vids you used a Holy Grail Reverb. Have you ever used the Holy Grail PLUS? If you have, would you recommend it?

  • awesome

i have not used the holy grail plus, but i hear great things about it. should be a great pedal. i just enjoy the simplicity of the standard grail (i just replaced it with a holy grail nano)

  • Awesome , really like your spatial sound , did you split the signal with the stereo output of your DL-4 ?

Do you use the modulate reverb on your RV-5 ?

where is the volume pedal placed on your signal chain ?

And one last question , wich setting do you use on the Whestone phaser ?

    Thank's !

  • yes, i split the signal with the dl4, and pipe the stereo signal through the rv5.

    yes, modulate setting FTW

the volume is placed after my dirt pedals, before my tremolo, delays and reverbs

on the whetstone i go between the pads and the normal setting, set to asymmetric, and typically with the lo pass filter on

  • thank's , now i'm gasing for the whestone ! :)

  • Very nice. What is the spoken word from?

  • that would be some weather radio that i can stream through my blackberry

  • Damn man, move to the Netherlands! We'd so rock, really.

  • how about YOU come to the USA! :)

  • Ha, good point! :D

  • Those light-up cables are badass. Also, I can't get enough of these videos - are you in a post-rock band? If not, you need to be, I would buy the crap out of your album.

  • my friend and i are going to be starting one soon. will keep everyone updated on that.

  • can't wait to play renovate with you soon!

  • I seriously love these videos.

  • can't take it anymore. subscribed.

  • awesome.

  • lowes :)

  • where did you get the light up cables?

  • I dont think they are light up instrument cables. Probably just standard rope lights for affect.

  • this is correct
