  • Hi, I have a show coming up soon and I was hoping you could get back to me quickly, when I try to add another software instrument after the first one I already added, the keyboard controls them both at the same time and the only way I can get it to only play one is to Mute one of them which I can only do in edit mode. Any ideas?

  • No problem. The simplest way is to add a second keyboard in Layout mode and then change the MIDI Channel so that each keyboard is sending on a different channel. You don't actually have to have a second keyboard, this will just allow you to separate the input.

Go to Edit mode, select the channel strip you want. In the Software Instrument Channel Inspector, select the MIDI tab and specify the input device for the channel strip. Do the same for the other strip but w the other keybaord.

  • @JasTheMusicman Thanks so much man you're a live saver!

  • Anytime :)

    Have a great show!

  • one more quick question: ive been trying to add backing tracks what format do they have to be in?

  • No problem...the Playback plug-in will take WAV, AIF, or CAF files.
