Thank you for your comment, but I do see a connection. For me, it's difficult going into any holiday with patriotic overtones and not think about the current situation. But, that might just be me ;^)
God help the conscientious Americans, who have to look on as their own country goes on the Big Bully Warmaker trail. One immediate suggestion: get rid of those vote-counting machines NOW!
Vote counting machines? That would be a great idea. What they've switched us to are just vote stealing machines. No paper trail, no receipt, just "trust" that the corporation that made the machine is on the level and the voter before you didn't plant a trojan virus. Grape Koolaid anybody?
When Georgie was "elected" I hoped he would be mostly harmless. I was extremely angry about his stem cell decision during his first summer as president. I came the closest I've ever come to busting a television when Congress authorized him to take military action against Iraq. I was furious when he actually did invade Iraq. This is not the USA that I learned about when I was a kid in school!!!
The demise of democracy is this generations greatest shame. That we'd gladly give it away in exchange for a little bit of "security" has made all the rest just that much easier. But, like I said in the video, we can give thanks today for what little freedom we have left, then fight like hell to get the rest back. Have a good day.
and it is pretty clear that poLiticaLiersuck and need to be THROWN OUT ON THEIR ASSES asap!
enough of this crap people. how many of us is it going to take to surround the whitehouse, capitol and pentagon, in order to clean up the shit masquerading as "Leaders?"
I do think you're on to something there. I've always tried to live up to the rebellious spirit of Jefferson and firmly believe that questioning and pushing the government is our patriotic duty.
That was very thought provoking Kenrg! I am grateful and I am fighting and will not stop! I want our Constitution back! I want our country back out of the hands of the Federal Reserve and Central Banking! I wish that people fighting all around the world killing each other to just lay down their weapons, look each other in the eye saying, "I can't do this anymore", and embrace each other in peace...
I have found taking breaks for turkey, giving thanks, friends, and family help to remember what I'm fighting for...:-) Hope you had a wonderful turkey day!
Great video! For sure....please stop this senseless, stupid war and I will be Thankful...right now, I am not. I am Thankful however that Bushy Boy can't be re-elected. Bring our guys and gals back NOW!
Im thinkful for the Constitution, the document that defines out rights to be free, and im thankful for the only man running for President who will up hold and defend it.
And what about all that poor tofu being molded into bird-like forms just to please somebody's visual sense of what a holiday dinner should look like? Atrocities all around.
I think Thanksgiving is our most emotionally complicated holiday. Lots to be thankful for, lots of mistakes, lots of horrors that we recall through the holiday's imagery (those natives didn't fare so well). Nothing's simple anymore.
I do too! But I don't think it's a conscious act of pretending everything is o.k., but it seems as though I've been "deadened" emotionally and you feel as though there's nothing you can do but ride out the storm. Maybe I try not to think about it, because everything seems like its so messed up....I don't know Ken! But it's a thought provoking video and a "reverie buster" so to speak!
Reverie is fine - But not the exclusion of serious thought. A balance, as in all things, must be found. And, yes, I totally agree on the burn-out and deadening effect of the world situation at this time. But, let's each try to have a good holiday tomorrow anyway ;^)
Thanksgiving does not exist in germany. So for me the only difference will be either more or less videos from you guys - depending on how you spend your holiday :)
I doubt I'll be having much time for making (or viewing) videos over the next few days. But I'll be sure to dedicate all of next week to catching up ;^)
Thoughtful video. I think you grab the watcher with a common question, and then get them to think a little deeper.
I like thanksgiving, because for me it's a time to gather with my famly and friends. I don't see it as political or religious. I also love that it's on a Thursday. It makes it a 4 day weekend. Hooray.
The superficial side of me would say I think about football on Thanksgiving. But when I get deeper and think about it, it means all of those things that you presented. Thanks for the slap upsides'me head, kenrg!
Well said. I agree with all that you have said. I just feel aggrieved that the Western powers have been duped by some idiot into believing this nonsense. How many more bodybags will it take before this calamity is stopped?
That goes for just about any holiday. I much prefer seeing family when we want to see each other, not when we're expected to see each other. It's all kind of fake. Thanks for stopping by.
I always expect a lot from your videos, and I admit that about halfway through I had *?whuh?* floating above my head. But then the kenrg bite bit and I am once again a satisfied viewer. Keep up the polemic!
Turkey and stuffing and sweet potatoes and cranberries and radical political discussions - all the traditional stuff (for my family, at least). Enjoy & thank you!
I think, at this time in history, the turkey is a good metaphor for the Constitution. This administration has cooked it, carved it, and served it up--and far too many people are happy to eat it up and take a nap.
That was an extraordinarily, majorly, and totally righteous vid! I know I have a small channel, but I will feature it, fav it. Everyone should! Excellent commentary!
Imagine if I'd rambled on for three minutes! You'll be taking many more naps after the triptophan (sp?) in the turkey hits you on Thursday... Thanks for stopping by!
